Date Fished: 8/25/2003 Hot weather made for a tough BASS tourney on the TTW, but I was happy to see a 5-bass, 17 lb sack the last day. Winning weight was a little over 39 lbs., it took a little over 11 lbs. to make the top 50. Biggest fish of the tourney was a 6.37 largemouth. Best success was on shallow cranks, tubes, and finesse worms. The guy that caught the big sack (and eventually won) was fishing crankbaits in standing timber. Said the bass were suspended. Visited at great length with Rick Clunn, real interesting guy. He had it figured it was taking him 253 casts on the final day to catch a keeper. BASS is coming back in May 04 for the Elite 50. Fishing should be bettor then with cooler temps.
