Water Clarity: 0 Got on the lake a little late (7:15), but still had a great day. Caught several by 9:15 on spinnerbaits and T-rigs. Then the heat kicked in. So, not being a C-rig fan, I said I was going to learn and enjoy (like it or not). I went to a point near the S-turns and started C-riggin'. I am not one to tell the "fish that got away" story, but I have to for this one. I popped over some cover and felt a bump, but still not sure. Applied a little pressure and "yes" it was a fish. Set the hook! Feels good! Fish coming up! Came out... HUGE!!!! Looked like a buckin' bull! Kept the line tight. I have never had a fish pull line on this rig before... When that fish went back in the water, he pulled 20-30 feet in seconds. So overreacting, I "had" to get the net...:( All I have to say is FOCUS on the fish and not the damn net. I couldn't get it out of my rod box and ended up losing the fish. So, sorry I didn't land the HAWG and know I am not gonna guess at the weight, but I will tell you this. I have caught decent fish and I have never hooked into one like this or seen one of this size in real life. Overall, good day. Shallows in the AM and deep in the heat. Tight lines.
