Date Fished: 10/3/2003
Water Temperature: 74
Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater

Made it on opening day. Everybody was catching fish except me. arrived at 4 am. hit the water about 8 am. my wife caught a bunch of bluegill (nice ones too), at the northern cove where bathroom is located. then was told to fish a purple plastic worm in 30 ft. of water by a freindly fisherman. I did so at the southeast cove (large cove across from boat ramp). at noon nailed a 4 lb and next cast caught a 3-1/2 lb. using carolina rigged grape red flake 6" lizard. in about 20 ft of water. (middle of cove),that was it for opening day. got to fish again on thursday 10/9/03. lines were not as horrible as opening day. arrived at 5 am, in the water at 6:55 am (what a relief), nailed a 3lb on third cast in about 10 ft. on 4 inch fin-s fish #141 smoke pepper frost drop shot 6lb test. at the bank just east of the launch ramp. wife caught several hundred billion bluegill at that bank by the bathroom again. this time though she managed 1.5lb red ear and a 2-1/2lb bass on mid sized night crawlers. i caught another 3lb. at the cove across the boat ramp. in about 30 ft of water on an (obsolete 2-1/2" reaper lightning shad by (anglers choice) at about 2pm. and finally one more 3lb back near the boat ramp in about 35 ft of water at 4 pm on old reliable 4-1/2 inch aaron's magic RF D/S 6lb. test. i'll probably wait till next spring before i go there again. that way i won't deplete the lake of all its fish and maybe i won't choke on any bones. maybe, just maybe, one of these days, i will learn how to use the shift button.
