Water Temperature: 50
Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater

If any of you think that bass fishing is over in RI you are dead wrong! I went out to Johnson's on Sunday and had a great time. I live on the pond and have not seen too mAny fishing boats going by so just to let you boys know that the fishing is still great. If you can find the bass right about now you can catch them. On Saturday night ito Sunday a cold front came through so I figured the LMB would be deeper or suspended. So I first tried some of the deeper water on the pond and decided to try dropshotin' a Mann's super finese worm. I was fishing in about 15-22' of water and pulled up 3 keepers within about 20 miniutes. But then it slowed down as some rain came in so I decided to head over and try to see if I could pick off some fish in shallow water. I head over to the channel heading into Snakes Cove and was flipping a black and chartruse 3/8 oz jig with a Lunker City piggy back. I got 2 nice fish that went about 2.5 pounds each. After one of the quick showers I buzzed back on down to the deeper water and began dropshotin again. I picked up one more that went about a pound and a half. After about 25 minutes of nothing else I decided to try the water in the northern side of the pond over beyond Shady Valley. I fished a lot if shallow water with a small Mann's baby 1 minus series crankbait and pulled up 2 more lmb about 15" within a hour. Sick of smaller fish I went down to the northern part where Boyds and Flat River come in. It was only about 2 feet deep in some parts so I had to stay out a little. There were tons and tons of bait fish swimming around so I threw the little Strike King mini King series spinnerbait that was firetiger colored and pulled up a few more keepers. Just as I was ready to go because I had not caught a fish in about half an hour and I was very cold and wet when BANG! I got a beautiful 4.23 pound LMB rite at the boat. I only had a small 5'6" medium light St. Croix spinning rod and it took out line like crazy. It was an awsome fight. It was a really good day. Even though it will probably be cold this weekend I'm definatley headed back out. The water temperature probably won't change much because of these cool/mild temps and all of this rain. Can't wait till Saturday:)
