Water Clarity: 0 Well guys there is hope after all considering this miserable winter that we have had. Yesterday was the first day since early January that ice was gone from around my boat(living on a lake I leave it in the water year round). Waited till the sun came out and went out from 1pm to 4:30. Caught 16 bass between 1.5 and close to 3 lbs. Probably the best first day of fishing that I have had in over 30 years. This lake is the only lake open in this part of South Jersey and it warms quickly. There is still ice on the coves. Yamamoto 3in. smoke grub and a 1/4 oz. trap was the ticket. Don't hesitate to throw the trap on a warming trend this time of year. Even with the cold water they are active enough to chase it down on a slow to medium retrieve. This is probably short lived for now with snow in the forecast for Wed/Thurs. but it took the chill off. Going out again today but its a little colder so we will see.
