The most stable sit on top on the market and fishes as good as any of them, "The Ride" from Wilderness Systems. It's a slug in the water when it comes to speed but the most stable. It is also the only model you can stand up in and push pole on the flats. I won't turn over unless you go out in the surf. Stay away from fiber glass ones. My Ride has 3 years of running over oyster beds and no leaks. Test drive before you buy. Try out several, don't buy the first one you get in. Sally in Rockport guides the flats in Kayaks. Look at the reviews.
