SUBJECT: # 2257: Wilmington Bonito or Albacore

Submitted by NC flyrodder (24.197.108.102) from NORTH CAROLINA on 3/4/02 5:46:00 PM

Any word on when the bonito or albacore might be showing up. I know the water temps are still low and its early in March. Just wondering.

Capt. Lee Parsons says mid-April to mid-May, and expects them a little earlier due to mild winter. Check him out at gottaflylee@ec.rr.com; I'll be there the 18th and 19th of April with Capt. Lee.

Check out the article I wrote for Carolina Adventure at this link:

You don't need to go to Wrightsville to catch them either. There are just as many around Beaufort Inlet and every piece of hard structure between there and the Cape Fear River mouth. Fat albies have been around Cape Lookout, on and off, all winter.
