SUBJECT: # 2770: running lines for shooting heads Submitted by Beck (68.37.36.85) from PENNSYLVANIA on 9/12/04 2:13:00 PM Braided or Mono? I want to change out the running line on my 9wt outfit, it's showing some wear and tear and I don't want to start losing heads. I currently have it spooled with braided monofilament and was told that I will get more distance with a mono running line. I don't have a problem with distance now. I can toss 90 feet with just one load of the rod. I am concerned about when a fish hits and I have 40 or 50 feet of mono laying in the basket that I need to get on the reel. If mono is the way to go what brand? and what test? I don't throw anything big (cotton candy's) with this outfit. It's my bluefish rig. Thanks, Beck
