  1. Buzz from MINNESOTA says Dear Mr. Yoda
As a person of much sensitivity, I take umbrage to your many dispiriting remarks. I look forward to this event with great hope for a festival of civility, culture and pursuit of Micropterus ssp. Combined with elegant dining, conversation and refreshment

  2. Vern (204.73.55.10) from MINNESOTA says Yodaman, watch out for Buzz
The way I hear it, he is one of those 1970's dopers that spent just a little too much time sniffing Carbona and smoking that wacky weed. Lord, knows what it did to his brain.

  3. Yodaman (69.179.165.102) from MISSOURI says Well Buzz
I'd stay the hell away from me then, lmaooooooo!!!!!!

  4. Yodaman (69.179.165.102) from MISSOURI says Oh and.......
BTW, it's Micropterus Salmoides my dear sir, heheheheheee!!!!

    C'mon next Friday!!!!!

  5. Buzz from MINNESOTA says My dear sadly mistaken Yodaperson
You are correct that the Largemouth Black Bass is Micropterus Salmoides, however the Smallmouth Bass is Micropterus Dolomieu. And the Kentucky, and/or Spot Bass fall into other categories commonly known as Micropterus ssp.

Micropterus cataractae Williams & Burgess 1999 shoal bass

Micropterus coosae Hubbs & Bailey 1940 redeye bass

Micropterus dolomieu dolomieu Lacépède 1802 northern smallmouth bass

Micropterus dolomieu velox Hubbs & Bailey 1940 Neosho smallmouth bass

Micropterus notius Bailey & Hubbs 1949 Suwannee bass

Micropterus punctulatus punctulatus (Rafinesque 1819) northern spotted bass

Micropterus punctulatus henshalli Hubbs & Bailey 1940 Alabama spotted bass

Micropterus salmoides salmoides (Lacépède 1802) largemouth bass

Micropterus salmoides floridanus (Lacépède 1802) Florida bass Micropterus salmoides ssp. Cuatro Cienegas bass Micropterus treculii (Vaillant & Bocourt 1874) Guadalupe bass

  6. Yodaman (70.129.35.227) from MISSOURI says OK, Tell you what.......
You let me know how many of those besides Micropterus Salmoides and Micropterus Punctulatus you catch at Lake of the Ozarks, lol.

  7. Vern (204.73.55.10) from MINNESOTA says Buzz is into Amia calva
Don't listen to that old windbag, he is an avid pursuer of Amia calva.

  8. Buzz from MINNESOTA says stew
JohnD's Bowfin Stew I made a nice bowfin stew today similar catfish stew. I skinned the bowfin pieces I had in freezer, slightly unthawed, by running a sharp knife between skin and flesh. It may have helped to use some catfish skinning pliers. Boil the fish in water and some salt, drain, then remove the bones and put fish back in the now empty pot. Finely dice some potatoes, celery, onion, a few pieces of lean bacon, and some green onion. Add to pot with a couple of cans of diced tomatoes then add enough water to cover. Add a couple of caps of vegetable oil, salt and pepper, chopped fresh parsley & dry, powdered chicken bouillon, and one (or more) small dry red hot pepper.

Well to tell you the truth, I liked this better than the catfish stew. I served it over white rice to make a soup style stew. It is a great and delicious stew - bon appetit! John D in SC 02/06/06

  9. Hoot from Iowa says You guys are way too much
I graduated years ago so I don't have to memorize all those scientific names. Now I have Yoda and Buzz as ready references should have spent less time studying back then if I knew I'd have you two around...

Hoot will not make excuses because as an old has been, over the hill cowboy I'm already considered a sorry excuse of a fisherman..but will make note of Yoda's list in case I need a good one in the future!!

However when it comes to knowing a multitude of trivial worthless information and the great art of bull chitting I have no peers....

  10. Buzz from MINNESOTA says Hoot, call me
    612-348-9053

  11. Yodaman (69.179.162.7) from MISSOURI says Haha!!!!!!
See, now we're getting the "Buzz" going. 1 week and counting till we're down there!!!

  12. BASSMAN IA. from IOWA says leewsers
Dinner?? Had walleye tonight, Bass last nite.

Yoda, with all those ailments I think it is a case of boatless bank trash. Hey bring some of your old clothes that you have out grown, I need them, 253 and counting.
