SUBJECT: Great time! (Long post)

Submitted by Jonesy (69.151.91.200) from MISSOURI on

It would have been against the law to have had more fun than our group of 6 had this year. I wasnt sure we could top last year but we did. Here are some highlights.

Wednesday pm: Found out that a Fry-Daddy wont fry up 5# of taters in less than 1.5 hours. Good thing we found this out when we did, or we would have had the fish fry Sunday afternoon! Sorry to have held up the burgers/fries that night, but everything turned out really well.

Thursday am: I was the only person in the cabin that had previously had scorched gravy. Imagine that, I made it, LOL! Fluker says, "Aint no bad gravy, it's all good" so he starts in on this stuff. I knew it was gonna be really nasty, needless to say, I was fired from breakfast duties the rest of the week and Fluker now believes gravy can be screwed up....badly!

Thursday pm: Had a great time with the fish fry. 15# of fish and 15# of taters, along with hush puppies and slaw bread, we all ate very well. I would like to thank everyone so much for joining us and helping out with the funding. We look forward to doing this next time!

Friday am: Cranky had spent the night and took over the kitchen that morning. Thank goodness he did! Great meal Norm, thanks!

Friday pm: My son Mark had brought along a fart machine to have a little fun and he had way more than he should have. If you all have seen the Redneck Comedy Tour (1st show) this was an even better rendition of passing some friendly gas. Those that were not "in tune" with what was going on left the rest of us in stitches! What a gas! (pun intended)

Saturday: Friggin fish we had been catching all week decided to up leave the area and we were left wondering what the heck. Weigh-in went very well and everyone cooperated with what I had asked for and I appreciate that so much, so thanks to all!

Saturday pm: Thanks to Bear, his wife, Norm and all those involved with a great meal that evening. Thanks to all the sponsors for the great prizes, it gets better each year. I gotta give it up for my partner Mike when he started slamming one of our cabin-mates Brent. Seems Brent had a little kitty problem earlier in the day and well, I just dont think we need to go there....do we Brent, ole buddy!....LOL!

Sunday: Ya never hate to leave when having so much fun with a great group of people, but we had to call it quits. Looking back I have no regrets and cant wait until we can get back together for another round. Great to see everyone again and look forward to next time, until then, take care all!

  1. BASSMAN IA. from IOWA says LOL, there was some funny
stuff there. Chuck, 35 years ago my wife burnt stew, Ah heck it wasn't here fault, I think she was using a blow torch to cook it since we were so poor we couldn't afford a stove. So ya seen burnt gravy Hahahahahaha it happens. You know what they say in the service------ if it doesn't come back up----- it was good stuff. Great Post Dale
