Gene from GEORGIA says Gilligan runs into
Santa Catalina Island ( 33.343223/-118.326228) while on his way to San Nicolos Island ( 33.23 /-119.45), his fav dive site.
Brad from CALIFORNIA says Oh man, you got me...
Not really!
the course i take puts me about 5 miles off the west end of Catalina at the closest point. The first 25nm are a drag because of all the riff-raff going to and from Catalina. Once you get away from cat, the adventure begins~
gene, you obviously didn't take my challenge. Do a search for So Cal sportfishing landings, call any one of your choice and tell them you have an open 19ft skiff with a 3cylinder outboard and tell them you want to spend a couple of nights anchored at Nic and ask them for 'advice'
PUT UP OR SHUT UP!
:0(
And you be sure to get back with us OK cupcake~
BWAHAHAHA!
(you landlubbers crack me up)
Gene from GEORGIA says I do not doubt....
you have an open 19ft skiff with a 3cylinder outboard, and I have no idea how many 20 footers with a 4 banger goes there.
or that, you want to spend a couple of nights anchored at Nic.
Its the 70 nm offshore, away from some piece of land, you cannot do that in your waters, w/o going 70 nm past Nicolos Island ( or whatever is West of it), is what am saying. I googled LA harbor, and Watchorn Basin and the lat/longs. If you leave from close from there you pass Cat Island, as you agreed upon above. I guess its no biggie, but to most if you are 70 nm offshore, you are 70 nm from ANY shore, and you never have been.
I'm done with it. I do think its cool,to do what you do, but the way you tell it, is not factual, in my opinion.
