SUBJECT: Happy Independence Day

Submitted by Eric-Maine (76.179.117.226) from MAINE on

too bad we are flushing what good men died for down the toilet.

Have a great weekend.

  1. Brad from CALIFORNIA says The irony of republicans celebrating Independance Day
The 4th of July is a celebtration of us having kicked the royal british government OUT of our country--THOSE who fought that dreadful war did so because they yearned for freedom and DEMOCRACY over subjugation by royalty.

--the irony is, after after all these years removed from surfdom, republicans actually prefer to live in a kingdom over a democracy--

How else would you interpret their unyealding allegiance to the corporation over their own democratically elected representatives??

America has become a counrty of corporate worshipping serviles who have sacrificed their self determination on behalf of their kings..

  2. Starboard from TEXAS says Damn, Bradley. You just don't mind making a fool of yourself, do you?
Foolish Dimocrat pols plunging us into deeper and deeper debt makes us more independent?

I you believed the crap you write, and were a man, you would eschew sucking the pay check titty from those corporations you hate. Alas, you are a typical toothless liberal.

  3. mac (Doyle McEwen) (71.139.201.23) from CALIFORNIA says Brad, if there is any "royaly"
in this country, it is in the minds of our Senate and House of Representatives that have been in office for more than two terms..You have gall calling anyone a servile, you follow your union blindly, you worship at the altar fo the Liberal Democrats pushing this nation toward socialism..You have no respect for a democratic republic, you want the federal government to be in charge of everything..Talk about subjugation..Or are you just to blind to see it..

    mac

  4. Starboard from TEXAS says The more I think about a union goon whining about anyone sacrificing self determination, the funnier it gets.
Thanks Braddie. You are a riot.

  5. reelmadnezz (69.22.110.152) from FLORIDA says the only thing worse than unions
were the reasons they came about.

Was it the unions and the bad credit borrowers that brought about the current financial crises, credit or employment wise? Or was it those bright guys that thought up ways of increasing thier own bottom line without care about what would happen if things went totally wrong. Maybe you should watch "House of Cards" or read about how J.C. Morgan started out, or how Goldman Sachs does things.

  6. Arby from TEXAS says Mac ...you beat me to it...Go Man Go!!!!
    .

  7. PJzaBruin #10908 from CALIFORNIA says Damn, Starflake, you don't mind making a fool of yourself, do you?
Prior to the Obama administration, the debt exploded at its fastest pace in history when Republican George W. Bush presided over a Republican Congress.

I won't bother questioning your masculinity -- that's your schtick. Your senility is another matter altogether.

You blindly supported the Republican President and Republican Congress as they drove this nation deeper and deeper into debt to attack a sovereign nation with whom they had disagreements. Period. At least the current administration's use of debt is supportable by Keynesian economic theory. There was NO such support for the explosion of the federal debt under Bush.

Now go ahead, say something meaningful instead of just launching another ad hominem attack.

  8. Brad from CALIFORNIA says I've done more HONEST work in the last week than you conservatives have in the last 20 years!
Everything I touch is like magic for my corporation~

when we insatll a 10 million dollar engine, the company gets a fat check on that milestone event. and we do it time after time...Flawlessly~ (while being paid an ungodly miniscule amount compared to what they sell the instalation for :( [I ain't complaining 'cept that the 420FT/LB torque gets to the shoulder once in a while]

I know it's sort of strange to hear a union worker say this but i work my ass off every day, that's just me...

When it is all said and done, i will be ultimately fulfilled knowing that i have actually WORKED for everything i have--meagre as it may be :)

I stand by my asertion that you republicans are shils for big corporations and you don't even realize it.

I offer the following brazen statement as fodder for your inappropriate criticism:

The republican party has NEVER granted a plug nickle to working Americans!

    Me?

My hopes for a better America rely on the democratic process and NOT on what transpires in the boardroom*

  9. JR #11020 from MISSOURI says Brad, that almost makes sense
now take all of those hard earned dollars and give it to people who need it. That is what you stand for, so just give it to them, don't keep it. Nomoretaxesforpeopleunlesstheymakemorethan250Kme.

  10. Starboard from TEXAS says That is so very original, PjzaTranny.
Because you don't agree, I am making a fool of myself and I am senile too boot? But, I should not return what you have given and say something meaningful? Its that because you are special? OK, dumbarse.

    Braaahahahahahahahaha.

Your best line by far was, "Prior to the Obama administration, the debt exploded at its fastest pace in history." LOL Great spin, that. Yeah, how about today, with Obama's all time record for uncontrolled spending which has put a millstone around the necks of several future generations of Americans? YOUR children's and grand children's necks.

And, please, show us the "supporting Keynesian economic theory" for blind, massive spending on pork. I guess you would tell us that is the balance Keynes sought? The current unemployment rate is WHAT?

As long as you are at it, genius, since you ignorantly went there, why don't you illustrate how W's spending on the war effort did not produce the jobs that are the heart of "Keynesian economic theory." You won't. Because you can't.

  11. PJzaBruin #10908 from CALIFORNIA says OK, Muffintop, here we go...
Please explain how the fact that the national debt grew at its fastest pace between 1781 and January 2009 while George W. Bush was President is spin. I'm dying to know.

Keynesian economic theory calls for some combination of reducing interest rates and increased spending on infrastructure in order to stimulate the economy to avoid a depression or move out of a depression.

There was no threat of depression when Bush launched his war in Iraq, hence no need for such a stimulus. Furthermore, war spending is NOT spending on infrastructure.

    Happy?

  12. Starboard from TEXAS says I'll use one of your favorite lines, Peaches: Can you read?
I pointed out your spin on the debt under W, when Obama has in mere months, made w's record look like chump change.

Your attempt at explaning "Keynesian economic theory," falls flat. First off it is not only about depression, is it? And if you want to try to tell us it is about depression, let's hear your explanation for your statement, "At least the current administration's use of debt is supportable by Keynesian economic theory."

I take it you have never studied Hayek's "The Road to Serfdom?" What an appropriate title in an Obama era!

There is a reason "Keynesian economic theory" is no longer most economist's guiding light, isn't there? Like, perhaps, it was wrong?

  13. reelmadnezz (69.22.110.152) from FLORIDA says isn't the friedman economic theory based on a
wealthy overclass and a poor laboring class that has no social safety net?

I'm new at this economic thing, but it seems like the Chicago School of econmics says that governments' purpose is to allow corporations to do whatever they want to do without raising the standards of the working class. Or am I reading this wrong.

And I'm being serious in this question. I'm just a po old nail banger that's trying to understand what happened to the country I grew up in.

  14. PJzaBruin #10908 from CALIFORNIA says Well, you're partly right, Muffintop...
Keynesian theory IS about more than depression. It's about the government's ability to smooth out the economy through counter-cyclical actions.

Counter-cyclical actions like incurring debt to invest in infrastructure during a major downswing (as we have been experiencing for the last 18 months or more), and PAYING OFF debt when the economy is doing well.

Not that it matters -- it did indeed appear that we could be headed for a depression when the economic stimulus was pieced together. That is what I meant by "At least the current administration's use of debt is supportable by Keynesian economic theory."

As for Keynesian theory being "wrong," that is a nice example of pure spin. Roosevelt's Keynesian approach explains why we didn't suffer massive famine during the 1930s. That a nervous Congress put the brakes on too early, sending our nation into another downward spiral, does nothing to disprove Keynesian theory.

  15. Eric-Maine (76.179.117.226) from MAINE says Keynes was wrong
but he wasn't and idiot or worse evil like those today who ascribe to his theories after they have been proven wrong

  16. willmor (72.9.24.93) from PENNSYLVANIA says Brad, sorry to burst your bubble
You have done more honest work in a week the "you conservatives in 20 years". Many of these conservatives as you call us are business owners who employ liberal idiots. We work 7 days a week sometimes 12-15 hours a day. The fact that you travel "uncharted waters" in your good ship "lollipop" tells me you have some free time so apparently you don't work as hard as you think. Also lets assume that some of our military people are conservatives, or some of the farmers ect, do you work as hard as they do? Perhaps the only person I have ever seen that holds as high opinion of himself as you do is OBAMA. A good work ethic is not relegated to a political party but if I had to make an opinion I would venture to say that more conservatives then liberals have a good work ethic. If it was not for the liberal welfare recipients, liberal lawyers and the liberal college vote OBAMA would not even be in office. Personally, I do not think most welfare recipients and college kids should get to vote, I think unless you are contributing to the system you should not determine how the system is run.

  17. mac (Doyle McEwen) (71.139.194.78) from CALIFORNIA says Brad, you say you work your ass off every day
Yet, it wasn't so long ago you openly said if management didn't toe the line as you saw it, you more or less didn't perform up to your normal level and they soon saw the error of their ways..Either you bust your hump all of the time or you don't..Your statement about working hard every day just doesn't fit in with that statement does it..

Brad I have no doubt you work hard, I don't doubt you earn your money but you constantly bitch about the corporations and that includes the one you work for..Surely a hard working and talented individual such as yourself could find another job that pays as well or maybe even better and not have to slave for the corporation(s)..

    mac

  18. reelmadnezz (69.22.110.152) from FLORIDA says So I'm not gonna get an answer.
willmor, I think you're on to something. But let's take it one step further. Unless you have served in combat during your time in service, you shouldn't be able to vote. Unless you have actually laid your life on the line for the freedom to vote, you don't.

    How's that sound?
