SUBJECT: 0bama and his Praetorian Media guard gets Bitchslapped by the Voters.
The meanie old repugs (the Conservative ones) look like they are going to pull off the Trifecta tonite.
-
Bro (76.2.37.5) from FLORIDA says why this can't be right..
I remember last November hearing over and over how Conservatism has finally been kilt dead..
Let's Dig Up Ronnie! Dig Up Ronnie!
-
Bucket from OKLAHOMA says Seriously, Hvac....did the little lady put ya on a internet quota?
Just curious, have you thoroughly vetted our freshly minted guvs from Va and NJ? Are ya sure they ain't got no RINO in em? I'd hate it if they had some kinda skeletons in their closet. You know, like trying to figure out a way for dudes like Corzine and Bloomberg from financing their campaigns with tens of millions of their personal fortunes. Ya never know, one of em might have even voted for George McGovern for president. The fat dude in NJ looks like he might be related to Michael Moore. I suggest you investigate him further.
Ronnie's ghost visited me last night. He said he ain't coming back and if he did come back it damn sure wouldn't be as a woman.
-
HB #10313 from INDIANA says I seem to recall that Ronnie had an affection...
for Margaret Thatcher, Bucket...and she was a woman, albeit on who should be wearing pants... You don't get the nickname the "Iron Lady" by being a girlie like Braddie.
Are you sure that the figure in your dream wasn't john McCain? You seem to be able to channel him very well. LOL
-
Bucket from OKLAHOMA says Damn straight Ronnie was fond of the ladies!
He told me that was the main reason he could never come back in female form. He asked me how a fella like Barney Frank could ever get elected in America. I told him he'd have to ask somebody on the east coast like Hvac.
I'm positive it wasn't McCain. He had a full head of black hair and he once raised his arms completely over his head. He got animated when discussing Palin's qualifications.
-
HB #10313 from INDIANA says Well, I could see how Ronnie got appalled...
at looking at qualifications with Slick and Obama as presidents... BTW - Palin has pretty much the same experience as W. did, being governors and all... And she's light years ahead of the street thug.
I'm also sure Ronnie looks at the Repub party brass and says, "WTF is going on?"
-
Bucket from OKLAHOMA says Quit looking at her tits and wake up, HB
Comparing her qualifications to Bush or, God forbid, Reagan is ridiculous. They both served 2 FULL terms as guvs of 2 of the most populated states in the country. One thing that 2 terms proves is that they can govern effectively enough to get reelected. It's called a track record of success and I say it's pretty farkin important. Quitting half way through your first term in Alaska shows me she's a quitter.
I'll have to ask you once again to define the GOP "brass". You seem quite preoccupied with them. I know about Michael Steele. Who are the other members of this cabal that you deem an enemy of the grassroots conservatives?
-
Raggpicker (66.54.184.246) from TEXAS says Ronald Regan's head was frozen
Along with Ted Williams and The Duke, and boy are they going to be fuking pissed when they come back to life!
-
HB #10313 from INDIANA says Ask and ye shall receive...
From ABC News back in 2007...
Alex Spanos and his wife, Faye, have together contributed approximately $5.78 million, according to a review of election records by ABC News. Spanos is a major California real estate developer who needs government approval for his big projects.
"We can't give enough," Alex Spanos said. "We just give as much as we can."
Roland Arnall, along with his wife, Dawn, have together donated approximately $6.1 million, according to a review of election records by ABC News. The owner of a financial company that has fought legislation tightening controls on loans to low-income customers, Arnall declined to answer questions about why he contributed so much money.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Along with those two are a lot of corporations and their officers, as well as the usual suspect list of talking heads like John McLaughlan, Fred Barnes, Bill Kristol. etc... Generally speaking, it's like a big country club... and they really aren't in touch with mainstream America. They were/are quite content with the status quo, even if it means a repeat of the Bob Michel Congress days, when they were so far out of power they weren't even in the same area code, but they were liked, by God.
One thing I have found out about you is that you are all about absolutes - it's either all in favor or all in opposition, no middle ground... Tell me, would you vote for her if she was the Republican nominee? Yes or no?
BTW - I never compared her qualifications to Reagan...His pedigree was impeccable, and NONE of today's politicians can touch it.
Also, you might want to look this over - it's pretty interesting...
http://www.ontheissues.org/sarah_Palin.htm
Once again - would you vote for her if she won the nomination?
Annnnnd....she has a wonderful rack. Bwahaha!!
-
Rip #10422 from TEXAS says My Time Will Come
I have always been a tittie man, first and foremost. When Sarah gets in, tittie time will have arrived. Can we have 3 cheers for the titties.
If we gotta have a dummy for president, much better to have a good looking set of titties there than the cowboy W and the taxicab ears O.
-
Bucket from OKLAHOMA says Sarah or Obama?
Sarah but I hope it doesn't come to that. Sarah as a 3rd party candidate? Not a chance in hell.
You accuse me of absolutes? You boys will label somebody a RINO quicker than Larry can chug a Pabst Blue Ribbon. I've seen enough of Sarah to decide she's a rube that would set our party back for a decade. We really need to get it right in 2012 since we are likely to win.
So the cronies are contributors like every party needs. I don't see the problem. Parties grease their biggest contributors and always will. I like Fred Barnes well enough, I liked the SNL skits about McGlaughlan and don't really know much about Kristol. Limbaugh has more influence than those you have mentioned.
Voters drive the process and leaders inspire the voters. The good ole boy network that bothers you has little influence, in my opinion. I can't say they have ever influenced me.
-
Wackoman from Mexico says That's what I've been saying RIP.
You know the next POTUS will most likely be an idiot. I mean after all look at who gets to vote.
Might as well be an idiot that is soft on the eyes.
-
MikeF from FLORIDA says too damn true wack
If that doesn't hit the nail on the head.
-
Eric-Maine (76.178.216.253) from MAINE says Sarah as the party's candidate
does though have a chance should she earn the nomination.
McCain started running for president in 1998 or before. Obama in 2004 or before. In the fall of 2008 we were seeing them after a long campaign where the issues and message had long been massaged and focused into sound bites and stump speeches. In July of 2008 Sarah was a governor and mom from a blue collar background totally immersed in state and local issues.
She ran a gauntlet particularly focused because of her rural and blue collar background and the media's vested interest in "that One " and IMO faired pretty well.
-
Bucket from OKLAHOMA says Yeah well....
Your statements about Sarah are pretty accurate but since then she quit her job. There's probably a youtube video of her resignation news conference. Y'all should probably take another peek at that rambling, nonsensical bit of history.
-
mac (Doyle McEwen) (71.139.189.36) from CALIFORNIA says I have to side with Bucket on this one
Would I vote for Sarah if she were nominated to run against President Obama, yes, I would..Even though I firmly believe there are better choices with a hell of a lot more experience and leadership ability..I have voted for the Democrat candidate in the past and would do so again, if the Democrat running wasn't of the far left type as is President Obama..There actually are Democrats out there worth voting for, as there are also Republicans worth voting for..
Who ever the Republicans finally decide to nominate, isn't going to have a cake walk, contrary to many opinions..The absolute right candidate might have a much easier time than a marginal one, but it isn't going to be as simple as some want to believe..
Had Sarah Palin chosen to ride it out as Governor of Alaska despite all the crap being thrown at her and her family she might have earned the respect and admiration of a lot more Independent voters and on the margin Republican voters and possibly even some of the dissatisfied Democrat voters..As it is she does indeed have a "fan" base, although little of it has to do with politics..If she were indeed as strong politically as some want us to believe, she would have been enough to carry McCain to the Presidency..
Her "fans" will say it was the media that prevented her from accomplishing that, and unfortunately it will be that same media against her if she was to run for the office of President..Nothing has changed to make her a stronger candidate..Stepping down as Governor of Alaska did just the opposite..Even if she were to write a dozen books that make the best seller list..

Wackoman from Mexico says OK guys, y'all want to poo-poo the idea of having the moose hunter as the GOP nominee.
Then who's your choice? Can't be any of the boys that McCain beat in the last primary. If McCain can beat them anybody can.
So who ya got? Even a hot shot like the newly elected Governor of Virginia would have to step down to go after the nomination.
Bobby Jindal? Charlie Crist? Minnesota's Tim Pawlenty? Newt? (My brother has a champion black lab named Newt. Have I ever told y'all that?), Haley Barbour (wonder how many times he has said the "n" word?)
Say what you want but I am telling you the presidential election is the world's largest popularity contest. Folks don't care about policy or experience. If they did Obama would not be president.
If that is true then I figure the gal from Alaska will crush all comers. I hope she does a Farah Fawcett like poster.
-
Rip #10422 from TEXAS says Ragg
Heard other day they had fukked up and allowed Ted Williams head to thaw out. Hope he's not same place as Reagan.
-
GITTHENET from NORTH CAROLINA says She sure does
intimidate those on the left for some reason and I can't understand it. Seems for all the admiration from conservatives, there's equal admiration from the opposition. Why don't they just ignore her?
IMO - She had the charisma, looks and was developing popularity, then she had to discuss the issues and she struggled under the pressure or truly lacked the knowledge. She was definitely the most grounded and was "in touch" of all candidates. She was also of a common background, not Ivy League educated, not born of a family of wealth.
Typically, it's the opposing party that identifies the candidate.
For some reason, two extreme lefties wrote an opposing book.

-
mac (Doyle McEwen) (71.139.189.36) from CALIFORNIA says Wacko, I know a large number of Republicans
that chose to vote for Obama rather than McCain/Palin..Now if Palin was all that charismatic she would have been able to keep those Republicans in the fold so to speak..The only thing that has changed since the last presidential election as far as Palin goes is she stepped down as the Governor of Alaska, although she still had some time to serve..Perhaps she thought this would make her a stronger candidate in the future, if so, I feel she made the decision in error or was misled by someone into thinking this would be best for her future political considerations, if any..Sure, she is a fine looking lady and seems to have some amount of common humanity about her..Does this translate into her being a really strong candidate for the Republicans in 2012, I can't imagine it would..
Yes, there were candidates McCain defeated and many will think as you do now they don't really have much of a chance..I tend to believe otherwise..Both Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson would be better selections overall than would Ms. Palin..Could either be elected, of course they can, provided the Republican party actually gets behind them, which they did not do for John McCain..It was almost as though the Republicans gave up on the presidency long before the ballot was cast..
You are correct in that experience and leadership no longer seem to be requirements to become the President..Quite a shame isn't it..
mac
-
Wackoman from Mexico says It is a shame Mac.
I wish you and I could hand pick a nominee, political alliance be damned. But we can't and therefore we should promote a GOP nominee that can beat Barrack Obama. I ain't running so that leaves my buddy Sarah. Like it or not.
Oh yeah, in case you bunch of squareheads (this means you Bucket) here on the BFHP Potlicker board haven't figured it out yet:
A WHITE MIDDLE AGE MALE DOES NOT HAVE A CHANCE IN A NATIONAL ELECTION IN THIS COUNTRY RIGHT NOW. It does not matter if the canidate is conservative, moderate, wealthy or a freaking porn star. If he looks like me and Bucket he is doomed. You can thank my good friends the Bush's for that. Dick did his part too although the quail hunting thing was not that big of a deal. Unless you work for CNN.
I want to win. Right now give me the girl. That may change in 3 years but I doubt it.
-
Bucket from OKLAHOMA says I really don't think she frightens the libs
I think they would welcome her entering the fray. Hell, only about half of the republicans think she's qualified for pres. Rip mentioned up above that she might take a posse down to Florida and target Crist's run for the Senate. She can kiss my hairy arse if she thinks she can remake my party around her addled vision of what the GOP should look like.
Here's a newsflash, boys. A (C) next to a person's name means about as much as an (R) or a (D) or an (L). A person's body of work and accomplishments mean a helluva lot more than simply being able to throw some red meat to the far right and get a few hillbillies excited.
Sell some books, Sarah....maybe pitch the studios for a talk show. I'm sure there's always room for you on talk radio. Any of those should satisfy your need for attention, sweety.
-
Eric-Maine (76.178.216.253) from MAINE says This time next year Crist will be
on the outside looking in........ another RINO dead
-
Bucket from OKLAHOMA says "another RINO dead"
At the cost of another lib in Washington. I promise you one thing, there are varying degrees of liberalism. Eric, Ya think you and Sarah can remake the party in time to save the country?
OK, give us a list of Charlie's transgressions against God and conservatism.
-
Eric-Maine (76.178.216.253) from MAINE says Crist ran for the senate rather than a 2nd term as Governor
because he would have LOST like Corzine did last night.
-
Bucket from OKLAHOMA says Great list
I can always count on you to show me the errors of the unworthy.
-
Wackoman from Mexico says You think?
"A person's body of work and accomplishments mean a helluva lot more than simply being able to throw some red meat to the far right and get a few hillbillies excited."
Change two or three words and you got Obama for president.
-
Bucket from OKLAHOMA says Thanks Wacko
Glad ya see it my way.
