There are 303,824,640 people living in America until the 2010 Census is complete. The US Government has some experience running a healthcare system, and it's called TRICARE, the Military Health Care program. http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d07647.pdf
In 2005 the military spent 35.4B to provide health care to 9.2M active duty, dependent and retirees. That's 3847.82 per person.
If the government were to expand that pool to include the other 297M people, the total cost would run 1,169,064,375,652 to provide health care for everyone. A lot of military people don't use any health care each year, just like the rest of us. But 1.2 TRILLION Dollars seems like a huge waste of money. 1.2 TRILLION is 8% of the current federal budget.
Let's put it out to bid for 750B and see what we get instead.

Big D (74.193.156.121) from LOUISIANA says If the insurance companies take only 4% profit for their involvement,
The will only make a smooth 48 BILLION dollars in profit. Hmmm.
It's what the Dems want, so I guess all the earlier bitching about insurance company profits meant nothing.
