SUBJECT: triton 196 /w 200 etec.set up.....HELP..
Submitted by gweets (64.12.117.6) from VERMONT on
can any one tell me the height of motor with jackplate off transon i should start with...using a 26 raker2 prop....haven't used boat yet....still iced in.......
I have a 2004 Rude 200 HO DI on the back of a 2005 19x myself and I am running a modified 26p OMC Raker prop set to 28p with a little more cupping. I can run the boat 72/74mph if I have a light load 68/70mph with a heavy load.
If you put the center of the prop 2.5in below the pad of the boat the steering torque and chine walking will be reduced drastically.
Note: There is a major difference between the OMC Raker prop and the BRP Raker II prop. The Raker II props are a lot more agressive and put the nose a lot higher than the OMC props.
I asked the same questions you are asking about a year ago. Suggest you go to the BFHP and read the questions I asked and learn from what was told to me then
Good luck and you are in for a ride until you get use to the boat.
