SUBJECT: My wife is the greatest!

Submitted by Outsider (12.150.186.206) from Canada on

I have been on the pogey for like a year now and my wife supports me 100%. I get an allowance of $400 a month from her to do anything I want fishing-wise.

I just got up and gave my wife a call at work. She works 90 hour weeks and I decided to give back to her by taking her out to McDonald's today for lunch using my fishing allowance money.

Are there any other fishing wives here that are supported by their husbands like my wife supports me?

I gotta tell ya, I have the world's greatest fishing wife. Mary knows how I feel about bass fishing and does whatever she can to help me prepare for those long tournament days. She's up 45 minutes before me, preparing my lunch, making hot coffee, and she's right there to give me a back rub if I need it when I get home. Sometimes, she'll be my fishing partner in a tournament, and at times, she'll outfish me. She's still a novice when it comes to fishing, but she's learning, and someday, she may very well help me win some of these big money opens here in NY in October. Mary? If you ever read this, thank you for what you do and who you are :)

My wife is the greatest. When we first met we both found out that we liked to fish. (I mean hours within meeting) I told here that the motor in my boat didn't work and she said she was going to get it fixed for me. I asked why, because she didn't know me and do you no what she said,” You like to fish don't you? Well you can't fish with your boat being broken and that's why I'm going to fix it". I teared up and wanted to ask her to marry me on the spot. Needless to say, when were not working we are fishing. She knows what the hell she is doing. (No offense ladies) We have a 210 Sea Pro, T-Top, a 200 Offshore Mercury and all the bells and whistles. When were at the ramp with the big boat we look like a professional fishing team. She backs the boat and trailer up like a pro. While other people are spinning their wheels looking like fools. She caught a 28½”, 8 1/2 lb Speckled Trout and it's on the wall. We fish offshore in the Galveston Bay down the Bayou’s and at here Mom's lake house in E Texas. We got married in Cabo and were Marlin Fishing the next day for our Honeymoon. I could go on and on about how great she is but, I don’t think that I’m doing her justice as it is. She is my best friend, fishing partner and what ever else there is in life. Also, she lets me buy what ever I want when it comes to equipment. (Within reason) Just like the boat of your dreams there are to many extra’s to list.
