SUBJECT: divorced. he got the boat, I miss the fishing!

Submitted by moonstar (198.81.17.181) from CALIFORNIA on

Been fishing for over 10 years. loved it. miss it. grieving as much for the loss of the sport if not more than the relationship. any adivice or single fishermen in cali? Miss the thrill of the bite, the reeling in, and the landing. I fillet beautifully, and miss being able to display this art. Yearning for the smell of the ocean mist and the swell of the waves, the zing of the cast, and the thrill of the hook up. People dont realize that sometimes you lose more than the man when separation happens. I miss it all. Should we start a self help group?

Hey there, I'm along way from California but I believe you'll be just fine. Man I wish my wife loved to fish she just loves to nag because I fish too much. Sorry about the divorce but sounds like you,ll be a good catch for the next fisherman in your life. Good luck.

Sounds like you prefer Ocean fishing..Not that I don't like it, but I can't afford both and I prefer freshwater..

I also lost the bass boat in the divorce. We need a support group for ex-fishing wives, or a singles group to find new fishing buddies. Any ideas? I sure do miss the water, the fishing, eating fresh fish, hanging with the fishermen, camping and such. I am ready to put out a hook and hope I catch something.
