SUBJECT: catch&release only?

Submitted by Carolyn (198.211.138.89) from OHIO on

My son and I are novice bass fishermen. We bought an identification guide which says largemouth bass are catch & release only. We live, and bought this guide, in Ohio, but are planning to vacation in Minnesota, where we hope to eat our catch while camping. What's the scoop?

  1. 6/20/2000 8:49:00 PM Karen, Saltwater Fishing Home Page from VIRGINIA says Catch and Release
There may be a few places that are catch and release only, but I think most places aren't. You'll have to check with Minnesota Fish and Wildlife to see what the rules are there.

But no matter what the rules are, I prefer catch and release. Let them go to catch them another day. --Karen
