Hop over to wired2fish when you have time. TB put a piece on their that I did with a the college fishing team from Young Harris. Look around for the "What's up" section or page.

Y'all know BR200 and his pop 400.

Also Wired2 has some awesome giveaway contest.

I plan to get all the details (area, tactics, even size and color of the baits used) from these boys about their win on Guntersville, the upcoming regional in Florida, how their team is progressing and any hot dates they might have recently been on. I will sent the scoop to Terry so stay tuned.

By the way, I am of the opinion that college fishing is going to be the next hot deal and might just help the sport more than anything that has come along in a long while.

Thanks, you guys are great.

Wacko

College Fishing from Brett M  11/4/2009 5:58:25 PM
I can agree about college fishing being the next good thing. I wrote a piece on for "What's Up" some time ago with the same direction. Numbers must go up though and that takes Dads getting involved.

I personally never went to college. After visiting some campuses with my friends Mom asked me if I wanted to go and where-- I just replied-- "Na, I can learn to chase girls and drink beer right here"! LOL

Brett M is a tamed kitten compared to his former self!

Read the story Wack,,very good...had to take some breaths along the way though...LOL

J Todd told me a few weeks ago he'd like to work on getting a fishing team started at ABAC, in Tifton, GA. Where he went to College after one of those six months wonder man ventures to Oklahoma to fit show cattle. Never will forget that humble call after he'd had enough, "Daddy can I come home?", special.

Doesn't surprise me that Brad was instrumental in getting this going. He and the many others like him are the future of the sport. J Todd said he'd still be in College today if they had fishing teams back then. His son, Landon, has the bug bad. No doubt it's "hereditary", been proven many times over and let's hope it continues.

Hopefully when all this economic bs shakes out there will be a lot more support for the college fishing programs. No doubt it's a winner for all concerned.

Thanks for the attention Wack...thumbs up bud.

I thought thatt ABAC already had a team.

BR....former Golden Stallion!

College fishing has been a popular topic around the North Ga. Mountains since the Guntersville tournament. A lot of high school visitors to Young Harris have asked about how to join the fishing team. Good publicity for the school.

Not that I'm aware of BR... from ButchT  11/5/2009 11:00:56 AM
Unless they've started one recently. I think it would get a lot of attention at ABAC. Maybe after this week J will have some time to go over and visit with them.
