Our prayers for reovery & best wishes go out to her also.

"T & The Bride"

read this about her on her facebook page from lukinupinbama #15447  11/6/2009 12:10:05 PM
One of the emergency responders stated that when they got to her and began treatment the first words out of her mouth were "Did I kill the mo*th#rf$#*er?" Now that is a woman trained and ready to do her job! Bless her for having the intestinal fortitude to do the right thing. She saved many other lives for sure.

Carolina girls from Kerrlake  11/6/2009 1:20:30 PM
Dont you wish they could all be Carolina girls. I have met her daddy a few times when we had a place at Carolina Beach. He was the mayor. Job well done lady!

Don't know about shootin' straight Grid. from Spinny  11/6/2009 1:28:45 PM
Reports are she shot him four times and the asshole is still alive!

Just kidding. She's pretty amazing standing up in the line of fire like she did.

Rate of Fire from Rip #10422  11/6/2009 1:34:36 PM
What handguns did this nut have? They state an automatic and another weapon. To shoot this many, he had to reload several times, didn't he. I know very little about handguns, but are they any with much over a 10 round clip?

Even at say 10 rounds apiece Rip... from Gridleak  11/6/2009 2:02:26 PM
 ...

that means he prob'ly only reloaded each weapon maybe twice. That would have put 60 rounds at his disposal. And it don't take long to shuck an empty clip and shove in a loaded clip. Two or three seconds tops for a practiced hand.

   Most 9 MM hold 15 -17 rds from TexasGeorge  11/6/2009 2:21:06 PM
And extended capacity mags are available.

The incident happened in a very crowded building and people couldn't get out of harms way. The guy could have shoot in any direction and hit someone.

When practiced someone can change a magazine in a couple seconds.

The guy knew nobody but he would be armed as personnel on post can NOT carry concealed weapons.

If he'd opened fire down town Killeen he'd met his maker real soon because off post people can carry and will return fire.

Right on, on that last statement.

No reason for every soldier in that building or on that base for that matter not to have their standard issue side arm on them. from Wackoman  11/6/2009 4:11:32 PM

Some bullchit army rule I guess. Maybe be a rule that is about to change. I remember going to look at work on several bases right after 9/11 and it seemed like everybody was armed.

   Beretta 9MM's from JerseyBasser #15090  11/6/2009 5:14:39 PM
They use the M9 which is same as the 92F and hold 15 in the clip and 1 in the pipe.
Gutless terd should have been taken out and shot some more. They wonder why people racial profile Muslims.i heard on Tv last night that a Retired General that knew who the gunman was had numerous problems from him and his beliefs. He was fed up with the way people talked about Muclims and he freaks out? Really gets the point across huh?

He was a retired Colonel JB.. from ButchT  11/6/2009 6:26:45 PM
But the young lady is to be commended and I'm sure she will be in the highest fashion,,,she is a true hero without a doubt. No doubt other deaths were stopped by her actions.

I'm pretty much of the opinion there needs to be racial profiling. Especially in these days and times. I know when I fly I always look at the other passengers I am flying with. If they appear to be of Muslim origin, I watch, and watch closely. They scare me....period.

I don't trust them one damn bit, no matter where or who they are. Look at Europe and what is happening over there. Europe is being Musiminized and it's scary. Can you imagine if we have to deal with a Muslim controlled Europe in the future? Neither can I..but I assure you it's happening and it's scary. And it's not that far behind in our Country as we speak.

Something to thing about...screw "Political Correctness". It's time to bring it home.

Vote in 2010 and vote verrrrryyyyyyyy...wisely. If you don't dress right, speak English, salute the American Flag and pray to Jesus Christ...take your ass back to where you came from...PERIOD!!! And that goes for those in Washington as well.

I would venture to say a bunch of us old furts are about pretty much fed up with what is going down. Political solutions will be the first choice. After that who knows.

On second thought,,,I don't think it's just us "old furts".

Food for thought.

Agree Butch from JerseyBasser #15090  11/6/2009 6:56:31 PM
They had it on Fox last night as a retired general but I stand corrected, thanks.
It aint just our older Americans either,I J Todds age and it makes me madder than hades at what the US is turning into. Now its a bunch of lets not make anyone mad or hurt their feelings crowd that wants everyone treated evenly.SCREW THAT! Everyone is entitled to nothing but what they earn!
I am with you on the airplane deal and racial profiling.I flew 3 weeks after 9/11 and there were 2 Muslims on the plane, how did I know,I ASKED. They were let onto the plane without being screened,12 friends going to Vegas were all pulled and searched.I told the 350 lb securuty screener female I dint know wether to feel violated or to go smoke a cigarette.
Anyway, when a certain race, background or whatever tends to do things over and over, you need to take harder looks at them. And with the way Europe is going and the panty wastes we have in Washington,we may be in trouble.
Everyone need to vote and be aware totally of who they vote for. This type of change is not a good one.

What we don't understand from Sawgrass  11/6/2009 10:18:29 PM
is that profiling is only wrong when we do it.

It is not wrong for a politician to profile who is allowed into his town hall meeting! Øbama can appoint his czars according to his socialist profiles. Politicians spend a lot of money for experts to profile voters so they know what lies to tell to get the most votes.

In reality everybody profiles many times every day. You may not realize it but you do. Any time you interact with others you subconsciously fit them into a specific category based on your life's experiences. That IS profiling! And then you decide how to interact with them. It may be by age, race, religion, height or weight or any other thing that may make them different than someone else.

Wacko, not every soldier has a "standard issue" sidearm. from Spinny  11/7/2009 10:10:16 AM
Side arms are only standard issue for the Officer Corps and certain units or elements. Most enlisted soldiers' standard issue is the rifle "de jour". In my day it was the M-16. A little bulky to be totin' around for day to day, on post activities.

standing watch from MikeF  11/7/2009 11:04:13 AM
During the VN war when we stood watch on the ship while in port we were issued 45's to carry but we weren't allowed to load them. In most ports we weren't even given bullets to load into the clip we couldn't put in the weapon. I'm sure it made sense to someone. LOL

And profiling is done because it works. Just because you don't like the truth doesn't change it.

Spinny, regarding your questioning Officer Munley's abilities to shoot straight... from Gridleak  11/7/2009 11:52:50 AM
 ...

whether jokingly or otherwise, I submit for your examination...

Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, had already killed or wounded dozens of soldiers, according to Army officials. He was still firing at unarmed troops who were dragging away their bleeding colleagues when he locked his eyes on Munley, raised his pistols, and charged her. Bullets struck Munley in both thighs and one wrist as she dropped to the ground for protection and fired back. At least one of Munley's rounds hit Hasan in the chest, knocking him to the ground, witnesses said. Other officers closed in on Hasan, who lay bloody and unconscious.

Spinny, I am going to make a risky call here and say that in my opinion, standing her ground in the face of a charging lunatic who is blazing away at her, taking at least three hits, and still placing at least one round center mass is an amazing exibition of straight shootin.
