    Buried my buddy this evening...
from TheAmBASSador

she would have been 16 years old in July. Had a nose more sensitive than a hound and smarter than most 6 year old kids. But old age, a heart murmer, bad hips, pelvis, spine, deaf and nearly blind the last 6 months of her life...we decided to put her down after a week of sleepless nights hearing her whine from pain. Some mornings she just couldn't get up out of bed and I would have to carry her outside to do her business, clean her off, and bring her back inside. She was a lap dog and my constant companion wherever I went. But she no longer suffers from pain and I like to think the Lord gave us animals for pleasure as well as work animals and they too will be join us in heaven. Dang...gonna miss playing ball and hide-n-seek with her.

Pets certainly can warm the heart and soul.

Sorry for the lose of you Buddy from DaveT  6/15/2012 6:42:46 AM
I know it is going to kill me when my girl goes. Dogs really are man's best Bud.

Heard this the other day from jyarb  6/15/2012 6:43:26 AM
at a funeral. It was said to those hurting due to the loss of a loved one, but I think it sure applies to pets also because they become part of the family. The preacher said: "Grief is the price we pay for love." The love we get from our pets and return to them makes that price pretty small. It sure hurts to lose one, but it was worth it in the long haul. My wife and I looked back the other day and counted up 10 dogs that we have had during our 42 years of marriage. The three we have now will be our last ones. I believe when we get to heaven, those 10 will be there for our companionship and enjoyment.

Sorry for your loss. All dogs go to heaven. nm from Wackoman  6/15/2012 6:50:11 AM

Very sorry for your loss from StevieP  6/15/2012 9:09:55 AM
  She looked sweet.

I buried my 12 year-old lab last month after having to put him down b/c of bone cancer. It's a brutal experience, but you did the right thing for your pet.

She'll be waiting for you at Rainbow Bridge.

Tears in my eyes. from PPEN  6/15/2012 10:51:51 AM
I am sorry for the sorrow you have. The memories of the good things done by your dog and the things you did together will one day ease the pain over the loss. It does take time. Our thoughts are with you.

Thanks,,, Guys from TheAmBASSador  6/15/2012 11:11:55 PM
I appreciate all the well meaning thoughts. Abbie, was the first dog we had gotten after our Doberman died at the age of 13 years from a ruptured prostate. Animals so suffer the same ailments as the human race if they live long enough. Special friends....big and small.....

A builder Customer had a Black Lab that I just loved. His name was Tren and he was getting old. So was Carl. Carl passed before Tren suddenly from a heart attack. Carl owned the Cemetary where he was buried and his house and office were on the same property. Tren is long gone now but I can still see him sitting at Carls grave. Just sitting there. Carls wife could barely get him to leave to come eat and go in at night.
