Got to give a shout out to a couple of guys. Skeet. The guy can catch them anywhere anytime. I like him.

Lastly Bernie Schultz. I don't know him but I can't remember the last time he fished on Sunday. So that is good work by the veteran. Congrats.

Good luck to all. Seems like maybe KVD needs some info from the nephew!!

I'd bet KVD is making more money this year talking about fishing than actually doing it. Probably just staying out of nephews way.

Brandon ain't too shabby, either from OleTimer   7/1/2012 8:56:42 AM
KVD is an awesome angler and seems to be a very likeable guy as well, but IMHO two of his AOY titles belong to Skeet. He (Skeet)is kind of abrasive, I guess, but a class act, and a real professional. Assuming he's not in the top four for the "post season" this year, I will be pushing to get him elected in.

Bernie, though ... there's a guy you don't want to draw out with as a marshal. He's abrupt and terse, even rude, and I believe he's the only angler I ever drew out with that I couldn't "warm up to" - I don't think he said five sentences to me all day. Maybe I was just having a bad day. Anyway, the day I spent with him he fished for a limit and was satisfied with six pounds. I suppose he must stay in the Elite based on past performance.

Rick Clunn, on the other hand, fished on Sunday last week and has gotten five checks this year. Not too shabby for an old timer!! Hard to get to know, but once you do you will respect him way beyond his performance as an angler.

Like you said, tho - Good luck to all! One more to go in the "regular" season, with AOY coming down to the wire. Gotta love it!

It is a gamble out there......the smallmouth moving makes it anyone's game.

Slick calm conditions is making it great for topwaters.

I fished from the back of Bernie's boat years ago on the Potomac. Your impressions are far from memories I have of the occasion.

Well, Bernie might have just been tired from OleTimer   7/1/2012 12:38:11 PM
or, like I said, maybe one or both of us was just having a bad day. Anyway, that's how it went down for me.
