    Willl The United States Survive?

History proves that all great powers, countries or democraies fail after 200 years more or less.

What will the United States be like in ten, to twenty five years.
We have a cross section of people that we have made dependant on the government for support, this large contingent will keep voting in people (I use the term Loosely)that will continue to support them.

We spend more than we take in and are to the point right now where we can't pay the interest, yet those in power continue to pass spending bills damn the consequences.

In my mind it would take a complete makeover of our present government to get back on track. Tax everyone a flat rate, stop government handouts, make it so that we cannot spend more than we take in.

No one should go to bed hungry, however if you have become a baby factory and are unmarried perhaps the government should take your children and put them in decent homes and put you to work earning the hundreds of dollars you have been getting for sitting home breeding.

We are seriously close to major turmoil, when they say cut back food stamps, cut off unemployment, stop entitlements, there will be a civil war.

Where do you see the U.S. in the future, will there be a U.S.?

I have been saying for several years Papa from RJR  8/2/2012 2:30:45 PM
A balanced budget is what is needed. Nut cutting will hurt, and none of the politicians have the balls to do it, democrat or republican. I am more convinced than ever that one term limits are the way to go. If a state rep does good, and wants to stay in politics, then he moves up and runs for state senator, and so on. Lifetime politicians are not good at all. Even a one term President would make sense. Obama will basically spend his last two years in office campaigning, which in this case is actually good! LOL! But if they knew they were done in one term, then they might actually work their entire term.

Here is the deal from my perspective - you don't work, you don't eat. from Oneeyedjack #13663 #13663  8/2/2012 2:44:19 PM
I don't want to hear from any bleeding heart liberals that I don't care about the less fortunate. I do, so shut up!
Hungry children need to be helped; I get that.

But we are at a place in our culture that an elderly couple can't hire someone to rake their leaves! If you are taking the people's money, then you ought to be out caring for others who are too old, sick, young, or disabled to take care of themselves.

The volunteer community is always begging for volunteers. Anyone want to give me the statistics of how many welfare recipients are regular volunteers? No, because you would be ashamed of that information.

So, if you are healthy and able to work but don't when work is available, then you don't eat. Hard hearted? I don't believe so.

Agree... from GonFishn  8/2/2012 2:58:01 PM
Presidential term should be one term, six years in length. There should be term limits for Congress, House of Representatives should be half again as long as what Senators would be allowed to serve. Balanced budget is a joke, don't be taken in by what you read about it solving all the ills. Entitlements, over 50% of the US population is now receiving some level of government support, the question is, how to put a stop to the ever increasing entitlements fairly? Baby factories, I liked that and it's right on. Anyone remember the "black gentleman" (term used loosely) that was going to court to attempt to gt his child support payments decreased due to his paycheck being eaten up? I think he had fathered something like 20 some kids by different women? Medicaid is the largest single budget item in virtually every state. It's a Federal program gone amuck. Medicare, don't even go there, at least the folks who work have paid for it, of course, even here, the Feds came in and started bastardizing a program for the old and handing it out to the sickly, lame and lazy under 62. We're a nation of gimme this gimme that, responsibility and a worke thic are sadly lacking!

a flat tax would further ruin the economy-- from Brad  8/2/2012 3:48:18 PM
Why is it so difficult to understand that if 46 million Americans living at the poverty level suddenly had to pay taxes, ALL OF THAT TAX money would be withdrawn from the local communities that are already struggling? Businesses would close and more people would be laid off. That money is infinately better for the economy left in their hands-It is foolish to tax people who already spend all of their money--makes absolutely no sense.

STOP- that all changes with the porportion of income that is NOT spent!

If you want to straighten out the deficit mess, tax people on income that they don't spend.

And put an end to this SCAM-

There is upwards of 32 TRILLION dollars socked way in tax-free offshore accounts!

That is about twice the deficit!

US dollars doing NOTHING but making foreign bankers rich!

lets QUIT trying to fix the deficit on the backs of working folks!! Damit~

VICTORIA CAVALIERE
Sunday, July 22, 2012

The wealthiest people in the world have exploited loopholes in international tax rules, evading the taxman and sheltering a staggering $21 trillion or more in offshore accounts, according to a report released Sunday.

To give perspective to the scale of the offshore economy, the economic transparency group Tax Justice Network said the sum is larger than the entire United State’s economy, or enough money to entirely solve the European debt crisis.

The report, called The Price of Offshore Revisted, says between $21 trillion and $32 trillion could be hidden in tax havens in countries like Switzerland and the Cayman Islands. The first details of the report were released to the Observer in London.

When you talk about the deficit and you don't mention this traunch of money in foreign tax havens--you have absolutely no credibility on the subject.

We simply can't fix the deficit until we stop this massive amount of money flowing OUT of the economy--we can't afford this any more!

Brad, your an idiot... from GonFishn  8/2/2012 4:23:55 PM
Your figures are certainly as suspect as your sources! For those who don't know, check out the New York Daily News and its slanted reporting of all things pro progressive and anti-Christian/conservative. Find some better references which don't deal with crystal balls to guess what's stashed where.

this is going to sound odd but I kind of agree with brad but only kind of from MikeF  8/2/2012 4:23:58 PM
I do not think we need a flat rate tax but we need a flatter tax rate. There's way to much spread in the tax rates. As for the supposed offshore money instead of all of this liberal BS why not look at the reasons this money is there and correct the problem.

BTW what we can't afford is spending over half of the federal budget on entitlements. We're supporting way too many lazy fat-assed people who should be supporting themselves. Our welfare ystem creates the very people it's supposed to be helping. Only a fool (brad for example) would not understand why that's bad.

I do agree with: " Brad, you're an idiot... from GonFishn " from MikeF  8/2/2012 4:35:11 PM
But most of you already knew that. LOL

they can pay from BamaBassHunter #12418 #12418  8/2/2012 5:09:03 PM
When it comes to buying beer or cigs or chips and ect they can pay and they do pay a sales tax to the state, county, city but yet when it comes to the fed they can't pay a dime ...go figure

Brad where are the facts that say from DaveT  8/2/2012 6:22:54 PM
that all of that money that you say is in foreign tax havens. Was earned here in the U.S. Are you saying we should tax people that did not earn their money here?

knock off the idiot stuff already- from Brad  8/2/2012 9:11:31 PM
 makes you look stupid

The fact is, there is only so much money that our economy can produce. the people who make hundreds or thousands of times what they spend to maintain their lives, take that excess income right out of the pool.

The 99% of us who actually do SOMETHING for our living, recirculate most of what we make right back into the economy-

Not so for the 1%

they spend a very small portion of their income on sustaining their lifestyle--the rest is sent straight to offshore accounts.

The ONE-WAY movement of that amount of money over the years is unsustainable to a post manufacturing economy..

To the winners who chose to abandon the country that allowed them to be wealthy beyond belief:-->

Bring it home and SPEND it or loose it!

POOF- goes the deficit

If you want to pump up you own personal IQ from Skipper  8/2/2012 9:44:44 PM
Just read one of Brad's posts.

that's what we've been asking brad; stop being an idiot That ball is in your court from MikeF  8/2/2012 11:16:10 PM
This is more of you showing how absolutely little you understand about our economy. You say and believe "The fact is, there is only so much money that our economy can produce." And that is a shining light from the beacon of your idiocy.

Do you recogn Brad was around say 2000 years ago from Skipper  8/2/2012 11:24:15 PM
Saying the same thing. There's only so much money the economy can produce? That was back when there was a world population of a couple million humans. How thin it must be spread to accommodate 7 billion humans.

Question For any Liberal from g2072  8/3/2012 3:16:55 AM
So, you don't think the poor should pay any taxes. Just how long should we take tax money from tax paying American workers only to hand it to those who won't work to support themselves. Don't even start with the BS about not caring about the poor underprivledged. I can show you generations of people who haven't done one thing to better themselves or their families when the government is paying for where they live, paying for the food they eat, paying to educate them, giving them free healthcare and even giving them cell phones. There is even a program down here that will pay for a car if they will show that they have a job. Car breaks down and it gets fixed on the taxpayers dime. You know how that works. They get a job long enough to get the car and then they quit the job and sell the car. The day is already here that the people paying taxes cannot sustain the people who pay none. There are plenty of people who are totally dependent on the government who are making it better than people out there working trying to make ends meet.

To the original Question from Skipper  8/3/2012 9:09:48 AM
I've pondered on this lately. Civil War comes to mind. Well, the facts are at some point the country will not be able to pay it's bills then we'll have 2 choices. File Bankruptcy or print worthless money to pay off our debts with. Neither are viable options if you want to save the country. Suddenly because of the value of our dollar a loaf of bread might sky rocket to $50. Gallon of gas to $100. We could have money that wouldn't buy anything.

Then you kind of wonder if the Civil War or War, or whatever we call it hasn't already taken place and been lost or is being lost. The fact is this country was founded by conservative christian people. Today those people are the slaves. They work while liberals and trash take the fruits of their labor. We pay it out in welfare, free housing, free medical, free whatever. The fact is it's not free, someone worked for it just not the recipients.

Our rights are being taken away on a daily basis. We are being told to be tolerant of law breakers (illegal aliens who are allowed to vote and take welfare and free health care and free housing). We are told to be tolerant of other beliefs. Muslims who want rid of the Christians, but we are expected to be tolerant of them. We aren't allowed to offend them in any way. Homosexuality is being crammed down our throats like it or not. This whole marriage thing is a smoke screen to the cause of fixing it to where they get to access benefits of married couples. Social security benefits, health insurance benefits, retirements, all sorts of things that will cause huge problems financially in this country.

It may be the end of time, it may be the end of the United States as we know it and the start of something new. The fact is we can not continue this downward trend without consequences.

Brad is such an idiot he thinks from GITTHENET  8/3/2012 10:57:25 AM
you can tax you way out of this deficit while 51% of all Americans don't pay federal taxes.

The answer idiot is not how to take care of the poor, the answer is how do we make the 51% more productive so that they contribut.

But of course, that's impossible while we have too many idiots like you that cant understand the root cause...

Skipper steps in it- from Brad  8/4/2012 12:40:19 AM
You say: "Our rights are being taken away on a daily basis."

So... I am challenging you to give just ONE right that has been taken away-

{chirp, chirp}

then after you can't do that, you can come back here and not give us a day to day tally of all the other rights we have lost..

come to think of it, you're not that much fun like that...
