Not a chance- from Brad  8/20/2012 5:33:29 PM
The vast majority of Americans are not rich. As this campaign progresses, they will have a clear choice in which party is looking out for the rich EXCLUSIVELY or which one has a RECORD of supporting the middle class.

Here is THE only question you have to ask yourself if you want to know the outcome of the Nov. election--

Name ONE meaningful thing the republican party has done for the middle class/working families in the last 20 years?

and when you can't come up with anything..

That right there will take all the mystery and bewilderment out of it for ya'

"Corporations are people my friend"

that's a tough sell in this economy when the fortune 500 is rolling in cash and the rest of America is struggling, don't you think?

RICH or POOR...American deserves a NEW Prez! from Bill Hunter  8/20/2012 5:47:59 PM
Period! MM

Obama will not carry a single state!

you are right Brad from RJR  8/20/2012 5:48:32 PM
the vast majority is not rich. But the vast majority is realizing just how bad Obama has made it. Hope and Change? Google "unemployment numbers by years". Then report back on how Obama has fixed things? And don't even bother about counting the millions who quit looking for work that are not reported in the 8.2% this year. There is no opportunity under Obama for any business to expand. You will never understand it, and I really feel bad for you.

You don't get it bwadley... from Funky  8/20/2012 6:22:57 PM
It's not about the rich or the poor... it's about the rest of us who don't want to get any poorer. Which is exactly where we're headed under the policies of the current administration.

As far as Illinois, anything is possible. Perhaps you should go read what some of Obama's 2008 Community Organizers are saying. Seems they are struggling as much as before and Obama ain't done shit for them or the community and they're not happy campers. I'll give you a little help... go to the Washington Post and search for "Obama South Side". I have my doubts if after years and years of brain-washing, they'll vote Republican, but you never know. Just like I was surprised the other day when Whoopie said Chicago had no right to deny Chick-fil-A a business license because of the CEO's religion.

The economic cat is out of the bag from Brad  8/20/2012 6:32:35 PM
it took grand theft America in '08 and the subsequent breakdown of the economy for people to finally wake up-

Except you folk...

trickle down hasn't worked for the middle class--

romney is all about trickle down

ryan would get a tax break under his own plan..(sorry, you're not in his bracket).

Obama has stated numerous times that people in HIS tax bracket should be paying higher taxs.

That's putting your money where your mouth is!

Something you will NEVER hear a republican do..

Here we GO again Brad from DaveT  8/20/2012 6:34:48 PM
Thank you President,Bush and President Regan for the tax cut. And for more money in my pocket. Brad did you give your tax cut back? If NOT you got extra money too. I BET YOU DIDN'T GIVE THE TAX CUT BACK. Also not one GOP voted for Obama-care. Which makes you buy something you may not want or need. Well Brad did you give the money back? Bet you will not answer that?

just curious but don't you have to have a job to be in the middle class from MikeF  8/20/2012 6:39:23 PM
And since obama has destroyed this recovery aren't there less people in the middle class than when he was elected.

You get stupider by the minute. from Funky  8/20/2012 6:59:17 PM
Trickle down does work, but trickle up sure as hell doesn't. The economy is dire not because, as you would have us believe, The fat cats on Wall Street stole it. It's dire because a bunch of feel good idiots in DC decided the banks must loan money to people who are way over their head and many who never had any intention of paying it back... just like the student loans today. You can't expect the banks to sell the good paper and sit on the bad, so they had no choice but to package them. Freddie and Fannie then furthered the problem but hiding the defaults. When it became evident that it wasn't working, that bad paper had wormed it's way into virtually every corner of our economy and the dominoes started to fall.

The thing that pisses me off is the government is still requiring banks to maintain a certain percent of high risk, sub-standard loans. Til that stops, you'll never see the banks making loans to good people who need it to get a business going. You'd have us believe it happened the other way around... Wall St stole the money and that caused all these people to default on their mortgages... explain to me how that works!

Trickle down always works from RJR  8/20/2012 7:51:42 PM

I'll take trickle down prosperity... from Gridleak  8/20/2012 8:16:57 PM

over trickle up poverty any day.

Funkywinkerbean from Brad  8/20/2012 9:38:37 PM
do you really want me to throw your delicate ideology into the briar patch, yet one more time..?

Yeah, go ahead... post that Bush video again... from Funky  8/20/2012 11:02:19 PM
where he had a brain fart and listened to the bleeding hearts that loaning money to people with bad credit was a good idea. Cause you got nothing else!

Why that's as good an idea as giving an alcoholic a fifth of vodka. Or a politician a new tax!!!

   I'll help! from Funky  8/20/2012 11:20:58 PM
Certainly Barney's hands are clean... he was ALWAYS against it!

   Middle Class from g2072  8/21/2012 2:36:45 AM
All I know is that I grew up in a middle class family. My dad was a high school teacher and basketball coach. My mom was a secretary and later managed a garment factory. I can honestly say that the democratic party of today doesn't stand for anything I believe in and as you probably know we certainly weren't wealthy growing up. My mom and dad did work hard and manage well and are pretty comfortable now. On a side note my dad also won over 1000 varsity basketball games and is in the MS sports Hall of Fame. He dislikes the democratic party even more than I do.

I grew up in rural Illinois from Gene  8/21/2012 12:05:13 PM
many farmers were conservative democrats, then. As in the south, the democratic party has changed. We will have to wait and see if the down state conservatives can out vote the Chicago Dems.
