SUBJECT: Is there any difference between open water - ocean, and lake salmon

Submitted by ParDner from CALIFORNIA on

As opposed to when they enter streams to spawn and /or get on in life ?

Is there any credence to what I heard and experienced, that river salmon have harder mouths because they are getting old and crusty. . .dieing just after the spawn ?

Where can I turn for an answer to this question ?

Thanks

Rich
