I haven't had a weight bench in the house for some time, and I quit the gym. So, I decided to buy another weight bench. A dumbbell weight bench. . . how apropo. I have 8 pounders, 15 pounders, and 25 pounders. Might buy 40 pounders if I feel particularly ambitious.

The best I found for my purposes (toning - 18 separate exercises) is the Golds Gym XR 5.9 Bench. It comes in a box strapped with heavy plastic thingies so it's easier to tote - probably weighs 60 pounds. You bring it home and into your living room to set it up. The first written instruction inside the box says " Construct the equipment in the room you intend to use it in". So now I can't carry the whole box because I cut the plastic carry straps to open the box. I carry the parts separately into the room where "My Gym" will be. The second instruction in the box say "Construction will go better if two people work on it together." The third instruction in the box says "you'll need these tools". Then they name the tools. Why don't they put all those instructions you need to know before you buy the product, on the outside of the box? Communist plot for sure.

All went pretty well and it is very well constructed. Took me about 1 hour to put together because I'm alone on this and I don't have my regular glasses to see well. Had to double check every step, etc.

About those instructions however, they should have one last one that reads "Don't worry about your first workout - you have just completed it."

All's well that ends well. . . by God no mistakes either.

Well Congrats and I know I can speak for the rest when I say from Dr. Phyl  7/14/2010 1:16:04 PM
What in the phark are you doing reading instructions? Turn in your Mancard, go set on the bench and turn on Opra. You are ruining the manly image we have been striving for here for years.
