and they are saying at his time 347 homes destroyed on 35 streets (Mountain Shadows area) and the number could rise. Unknown the number damaged, so far no known injuries or fatalities but they haven't begun the secondary searches of the structures. The primary searches are still ongoing and concentrate on fire related observations. Containment is at 10% which is double what they had and includes the area nearest Manitou.

Containment can also mean there's nothing left to burn.

I just heard they caught a meth-head couple burglarizing evacuated homes there someplace. Maybe Hank can spare a couple hollow points for them!

PRCA Had To Evacuate from Papafins  6/29/2012 10:54:48 AM
We have the busiest week in our sport next week, 31 rodeos in 7 days and the PRCA had to evacuate their headquarters.
Going to be a big task getting things taken care of we are in Colorado Springs.

My heart goes out to those that have lost their homes, and belongings.
Lets hope they get this thing under control quick.

Shooting would be too good for the meth heads that were robbing byrned out oor eveacuated homes, tie them to a tree in the controlled burn zone.

but what is more important is the one-for-all and all-for-one camaraderie that these professionals share with eachother--human goodwill at it's finest!

That video... from Funky  6/29/2012 4:05:58 PM
does give you a pretty good feel for the reasons this fire has been so damn hard to get a handle on. All those steep peaks, canyons and gullies make it damn near impossible to get to by man or plane. They need to train a squad of fire-fighting mountain goats... whaddya think.... naaaah!
