I Noticed The Beach Waters Got Riled Up from Tbone  7/14/2012 12:36:17 PM
I don't think that camera is updating correctly. Looking at the "Marina Cam" @ Stingaree, the sun is/was shining.

Spooly or Wade, since I have to stop at WallyWorld in Orange Tx., is there anything I need to get while I'm there???

Just got back ....... from Wade Fisher  7/14/2012 1:05:46 PM
from running a few errands and the water on the roads is getting pretty deep in places. The weather guesser's are predicting rain clear through next Wednesday.

Tbone, I can't think of anything right off the top of my head. I picked up a couple of jars of hot pickled okra and a few sacks of frozen breaded okra. Grid and Spinny will be thrilled.

Since somebody... Crowbar I think... from Gridleak  7/14/2012 1:18:48 PM

said they was doin' brisket, and somebody else said they was doin' somethin' else... I forget what... then I'll do chicken wings. I'm guessin' about a bazillion of'em. In several different flavors and levels of spicy. Maybe just try and keep some cookin' right along throughout most of the weekend, or until I run out, in case anybody gets hungry.

Question. Are we plannin' on spendin' most of the time on the beach, or mostly at the motel?

Also, like yourself Wade, I've got a 16 by 30 foot canopy I'll be bringing. Should come in handy. I'm guessin' we can drive the stakes far enough into the sand to hold, providin' we keep an eye on them.

I was going to post up ........ from Wade Fisher  7/14/2012 2:09:23 PM
ideas for dinners, given the diner closes at 2:00pm.

I'm bringing the fixin's for stuffed baked taters Thursday.

Crow is doing BBQ on Friday. I'm bringing the beans and tater salad and go withs.

Saturday night is suppose to be a fish fry, butt with the way the weather is acting, there is a bar and grill down near rollover that will fit for a back up.

I'll bring a few dozen breffus burritos, some snack cakes and fruit for the folks who are leaving for the beach before the diner opens at 7:00.

I've got the canopies, tables, and chairs covered for hanging around the motel. That big tarp of Grids will work nice on the beach. I've got some rebar for staking it down.

Grid, to answer your question about where we're spending the most time. I think it depends on the weather, the fish, and the hangovers. My plan is to hit the water before dawn, fish until the bite dies then head back to the motel to clean up and hang out. Head back down to the water a little before sundown and set up the big rigs for shark in the dark.

Ice. Everybody that can should stop at the Exxon station in Winnie and get a couple of twenty pound sacks of ice. It's only .99 there for the sack.

   10 - 4 on Exxon in Winnie from Tbone  7/14/2012 3:15:43 PM
May have to double back on Thursday AM on an ice run. I'll pick up a bag or 2 on Wednesday. I'll ice down some water & Propel. I'm not much of a beer drinker (drink 1; pee 3).
Am bringing 'Rita fixings, including blender. I'm sure I'll spot an 'adult refreshment shop' after I cross the Sabine. Don't wanna get stopped for bootleggin' booze.

Does Texas recognize out of state Concealed Carry Permits from other States?

Wade from Crowbar  7/14/2012 4:26:45 PM

I've got a brisket on now for the taters on Thursday. Just sent Ms. Fisher back to the grocery store for more tortillas. Should have five dozen breffus tacos when I'm done.

I've got all the eating utensils and paper goods covered.

Don't forget to stop and get ice in Winnie.

How bout if Spinny and I pick up a few cases of soft-drinks? What do y'all prefer?

Wait, who am I talkin' to? Dumb idea.

No really, there will be some sober people there...right?

Got the soft drinks Cue ....... from Wade Fisher  7/14/2012 8:48:26 PM
Out of respect for the pimp daddy over in Ga. they're all coke products. Grab some water if you get a chance. I've got some, but you can never have too much water on the beach.

Check the sixth paragraph on the below link to see that Texas does recognize Alabama, your home state, if that is where your obtained your CHL.

   I'm packin' from Spinny  7/15/2012 12:42:43 PM
and I was gonna be packin' but I don't have room for the tsa required hard case and with all the chit I'm brining, the XDm and ammo would probably put me over the 50 lb. limit.

Bring several, Tbone! OLOLLOO

Spooly from Tbone  7/15/2012 2:08:52 PM
The statement you sent me to was written in 2005. "Alabama" was not on the approved list, at that time. I'm 'good to go' thru Miss. & La., so I'm a'commin.

Besides, Big D was looking for a sidearm for his newly graduated Air Force Academy son, who is headed for 'go faster' school. That S&W that I have fits the bill.
