Lets talk about One man Pontoons

I bought one last year and had it together and a couple of days before I was going to use it, a giant ass limb fell from one of our Sweet gum trees and ripped the one pontoon fabric-

I checked with every boat dealer, tent builder, canvas repair shop in the region- NObody would touch it!

Cindy said last week, did you try the seamstress over on Manchester? Nope and I toated it over to her and for 30 bucks she did a great job!
the one thing I could not find, was the bladder cap- it musta got blowed off when the 10 foot limb fell on the pontoon.

I came up with some corks with silicone that I thought would work. Well they might work for a 180-200 pounder, but not for an old fat man! there was a slow leak, in the bladders and in the person trying to get the Boat to work.

We put it in the water and it was looking pretty good-cept the pontoons were kinda floppy- Seems like that has been a problem before-

I got on the Boat and getting myself steady and I went to move back a little, I have never been head over heals upside down that fast in my life! Cindy can not get through the story without tears in her Eyes- She was laughing so hard- She has know me since 1974 and she has never seen that kind of Oh Sheet look on my face before- I went over- I went over lost my shades, hat and Dignity-
She found my glasses and hat, butt my didgnity is still tarnished- and then I moved on to the john boat

The one thing she had a hard time doing was watching me try to get in and out of the boat- when I first tore up my shoulder and Chest- She said she can still remember the poping sounds my should would make and to watch the collar bone move when I would mover my shoulder- Now I can get in and out and the bone does not move anymore-
I looped the front rope around the Post on the Dock and then pulled like hell to get the rear tied up as tight as I could and it was easy getting out of the boat!

WTF is a "one man pontoon"? Izzat the same as a tire inner tube? from Mudfish  7/16/2012 4:46:07 PM
Back in my college days, my GF and I used to go tubing on the river. We would drop her car off downstream at the take out spot, then drive my car several miles upstream to the launch spot. We'd tie 3 truck tire inner tubes together (one for her, one for me, and one for the cooler), then drift down the river drinking beer.

I think you need to consult Grid from Hoot  7/16/2012 5:50:09 PM
He is the leading authority on one man boats on this forum and has successfully navigated many waterways without any reported mishaps....

Not sure he can modify one of signature Lazy Boys to accommodate your physical ailments though

it can be patched with a hot glue gun or a hot soldering iron.

Though I would recommend he contact the manufacturer.

LOL @ Grid...Think that boat is a little out of C Spots from Hoot  7/16/2012 10:39:11 PM
range of motion...Think he needs a non inflatable pontoon you can step onto the deck then plop his backside into a heavy duty lawn chair possibly a rocking chair type and not have to ease down into a seat and paddle...

Those are popular with the fly fishermen...

Is that from Crowbar  7/16/2012 11:52:44 PM

inner-tubes like on this thing. You're welcome. By the time you get two of them pumped up you won't want to do anything anyway and everyone near you can relax. OOLLOL
