I remember the best Christmas I ever had was when I told everyone that I wasn't going to buy any presents for anyone or accept presents for anyone but instead was going to prepare a feast for a family get-together. No commercialism, just a good old-fashioned family holiday where everyone tries to remember that Christmas wasn't about who made out the best with the Christmas loot and who got the most lame junk.

Heck no RW, its impossible this year. We just moved into our new house 8 months ago and we have our first "chitlin" on the way in 5 weeks." If anyone gets anything from us other than a smile they should feel blessed. Somehow each year, it gets tougher and tougher. The true meaning of Christmas has been lost by most IMHO. Hey RW, wannabe (no pun intended) my x-mas gift penpal? Seriously, i'll spend a few bucks on you, atleast you would know you are getting something fishing related instead of ties and socks! ;)

Havet even thought about it yet. I never get anything anyway except from the kids, they usually get me underwear. I get them coal in their stockings, so its a good time had by all.

... and I'm quite proud of myself, I must say! We tend to have festivals and fairs around here this time of year, which are good places to pick up a few things. We don't buy a whole lot. The bulk of what we spend is on my husband's son. I'm gonna redo his bedroom for Christmas this year, which isn't going to be easy because I can't get started on it and "do a little at a time." Everything I buy, I'm gonna have to find a place to store. (And we have a severe shortage of storage space.) Anyway, I'm really looking forward to Christmas this year (for the first time since I was about 12).

Like Kel-lure, I to have just bought a new house so things are kind of crazy right now. My wife and I dont buy gifts for each other anymore, but we make sure the kids make out like Bandits. My spouses family is so large that we have gone to drawing names out of a hat with a 50 dollar limit for the Adults. We havent started shopping yet,but hope we get it done earlier than we did last year.
