Thought I might try the more protected and traditional early season hot spot of the Shrewsbury River as opposed to the open waters of Raritan Bay.We had the entire ebb tide and the ebb slack-from the Quay to just south of the Sedge Islands. At best there was a slow pick of flatties from throw backs to 13 inchers.Perhaps slightly over 20 keepers caught by the entire boat with maybe half as many throwbacks. Between Ray & myself we scrounged up 3 in total-- 1 keeper ( caught by me ) and a throw back each. The new millenium hasn't started off so hot for me,but there's plenty of time left.
