This will be my final report for the year and probably season. We sailed with a large crowd (@45 fares) hoping to locate the bass between the channels where they have been for the last month. The bait was present but the bass were absent so we headed south towards Asbury Park where we joined a small fleet. The Miss Barnegat Light, the Gambler, the Fishermen, and a handful of smaller boats were already working a small area in 70 feet of water. We managed to catch a few small bass but not the larger bass that had been in that locale during the week. A short while later Rob decide to head back towards the entrance channels to Raritan Bay with the hope of locating some bass at the tide change. The birds were working when we arrived and we had decent action for the next 1 1/2 hours. As had been the case earlier, all of the fish were short except for the lone keeper I managed to catch on a 6" white shad. This was the final trip of the season for Rob and the Sea Hunter as it appears that "the fat lady is singing". To all my friends and fellow fishermen, have a great holiday, a safe & healthy New Year, and I'll see you in the spring. Tight Lines! (TINKNOCKER)
