Gmg (216.88.252.171) from TEXAS says Titanium or not?
The word titanium is being used as the very latest buzzword among saltwater popping rod manufacturers. I'd like to throw a little info. out there for you so as to make a good choice. To my knowlege Fuji is the only manufacturer who makes guide frames out of solid titanium, the rest are stainless steel with a titanium coating. If you don't get a rod with the fuji brand guides you will not gain the advantages of true titanium guides. The solid titanium framed titanium guides are 30-40% lighter than stainless steel guides and are virtuosly impervious to saltwater. The coated ones are just as heavy as stainless steel framed guides and if the coating is worn away they will rust just like the stainless steel guides do. There are only a few commercially made rods that feature the Fuji titanium framed guides and All Star ain't one of 'em. American Rodsmith Titanium Series, Falcon Titanium Series and very few others (Platinum? Castaway? Anyone know if they are using the fuji titanium guides?) are using them because they are VERY EXPENSIVE.
That is not to say that other rods with Pac Bay "titanium" guides are not good rods or are not good quality, you just will not get all the positive effects that you would with the Fuji guides.
I hope this will help with your selections. All these rods are fine rods, just go into buying one well informed and you will understand what you are getting. And if a guide ain't stamped Fuji, you'll know what the deal is.

I have recently purchased an A. Rodsmiths Genesis II Titanium. Im not sure what to think I compared my rod to a rod at Marburgers, A.R.'s Traditional sereis and the guides looked identical.I also have a couple other concerns with this rod. I will say though. The rod is finished out very nicely. My guides shine like chrome. Are they the real deal?

Fishdog from TEXAS says Titanium rods
I religiously use a 7' All Star Titanium 843P. I have used many rods over the years but find this to have the almost perfect combination of light tip, strong backbone, and incredibly light weight for comfort after a full day of wadefishing. It's great for Top Dog Jr's. & Super Spooks and also 1/16th lead heads. Nice length and feel to the cork handle too. I highly recommend this rod.

fishin-inc (12.73.225.28) from TEXAS says Allstar 783C
I made a switch last year.
Dropped the 7' trout rod. Switched to a 6.5'
for tails and topwaters. It's working out well.
My opinion which is all it is. Make sure you are using good line. It's just as important.
Original Pline in 12# has done me well with my titanium. Better performance than the biggame and ande I used for years.

Top water (198.26.122.12) from VIRGINIA says Titanium/Graphite Rods
Maybe I am mistaken, I thought by looking a the Titanium rods in the catalogs they had Titanium/Graphite in the rod blank. I was thinking that this was new process that made the rods stronger, lihgter and more sensitive. Someone please correct me if I am off track here.
Thanks
