SUBJECT: # 4: White grub

Submitted by Gerry, SFHP from VIRGINIA on 9/27/1999 8:43:00 PM

Color preference: white

Size preference: 6 inch on a 3/8 ounce head.

Where does this product work best: In the surf for puppy drum, trout, bluefish, flounder, and croaker. Also, works great offshore for dolphin fish.

When does this product work best: Year round according to species of fish

Any techniques or tips you want to include: I prefer working a grub with a very lightweight casting rod. Currently, I use a 71/2 foot Silstar graphite rod with a Calcutta 100 rigged with 14 lb braid. I use a 6 ft. monofilament leader 12-17 lb. attached with a double uni-knot.

Many people have often joked that I look like a misplace bass fisherman, but their laughter stops when they see the system work. For tail nipping species like flounder and croaker I add a stinger hook.
