SUBJECT: Fishing Around Nagshead

Submitted by KenG #14754 from NEW JERSEY on

I will be visiting Nagshead the second week of September, (without my 27' W/A) and my 30 year old son and a friend thought we would do a charter, but not offshore. There are a number of headboats, some which limit fares to 25 or so, but I'm not sure what they would be fishing for this time of year. Also, if there are seatrout in the bays, I figured that would probably be a fun charter if they were chumming with grass shrimp. Anyone fish down there this time of year and have any recommendations? Thanks, Ken.

You don't need a boat to catch trout. Get a nice comfortable pair of chest waders and fish in the Oregon Inlet area and you should have a ball. 1/4 oz leadhead jigs with a 4 in curly tail grub or get some live mullet with a carolina rig. May pick up some flounder as well. Good Luck
