The trout fishing in Carteret County is the best that it has been in several years.

Yep right now you can get them specks almost anywhere. They seem to be biting at the Lookout jetty, in the surf on south Core, and at the bridge on Harkers Island. Big 'uns too. I've seen some that had to be 25". So far this is the best fall fishing I remember in a long long time. This isn't just limited to the speckled trout. Excellent this fall for trout, kings, false albacore, etc. You name it, chances are the fishing has been great for it. Ya'll catch 'em up! Jay

I'm new to the Salt Water game an old bass fisherman. Went yesterday in the Bogue Banks area not too far from the Bogue inlet, saw pleanty of baitfish and managed to catch a small red but no trout. I was using grubs. Any hints, shallow deep etc. Water was real clear, about ten feet. Mike
