SUBJECT: Is that EJ ?

Submitted by Jon (24.243.113.222) from TEXAS on

Is that you (Everett Johnson) on the cover of the new Texas Fish & Game (1/03)?

  1. mconway (208.254.130.235) from TEXAS says I also saw that when it came in the mail yesterday
ol' EJ, Mr. Humble. I could not find one mention of his name.

  2. Jon (24.243.113.222) from TEXAS says Where the rest of the article….
EJ, I got to page 66…and … where is the rest of the kayak article? Is the second half going to be in the next issue of TXF&G? LOL Now EJ, please explain the photo on page 64/65. Is there a snake it that yak or what? LOL

  3. Jon (24.243.113.222) from TEXAS says Forgot something
In the article it says its “mandatory” to have a PFD, a whistle, and a light while kayaking. I knew about the PFD, but I sure didn’t think you had to have a whistle, light, or anything else. Is that true?

  4. CBFisher (24.116.180.135) from TEXAS says Kayak Regulations
Kayakers must be equipped with one Type I, II, III or V wearable PFD for each person on board. Kayakers are required to carry a whistle or horn, or some other means to make an efficient sound to signal intentions and position in periods of reduced visibility and when not at dock must have and exhibit at least one bright light, lantern or flashlight visible all around the horizon from sunset to sunrise in all weather and during restricted visibility.

    http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/boat/wsdigest.htm

So that being straight from the regulations stating that kayaks must have the light from sunset to sunrise, a light is not required during daylight hours exept in restricted visibility. By stating this, a kayak is NOT required to have a light onboard at all times. Is this not correct?

    CBF

  5. Grinder (64.219.20.151) from TEXAS says A face that only a mother could love. LOL
I'm with Jon, was there a snake in that yak or were you just worried about falling out of it in front of the camera?

Why kayak when you can Majek? LOL

  6. Everett Johnson from TEXAS says You guys have the advantage...
I'm locked in a closet with only a lamp and my computer trying to crunch a publication deadline... haven't seen the magazine yet! Maybe Pam will let me out for a little while this afternoon and I can run and grab one.

    EJ

  7. Jon (24.243.113.222) from TEXAS says EJ.......OK, its of one of two things
There’s a rattler in the bottom of that yak, or he caught you having one of your “Senior Moments”. LOL. Go with the snake story, it sounds better. Now how big was that snake? LOL Oh! And if you locate the rest of the story, please let us know. And I can’t believe they didn’t have your name ANYWHERE! Jon
