SUBJECT: Finally, the truth about those go-fast boats....
Louisiana TM (188.8.131.52) from LOUISIANA on
was looking at the comments on the other board about the redfish tourney this past weekend and seen where several of those go-fast SCB boats were running. Each of the persons that commented said they were being beat to death and things werre coming apart on one boat. What about all the BS about those boats being so smooth in rough water etc etc. Just BS I guess to sell boats. The truth finally came out, inadvertently.
Go Fast (184.108.40.206) from TEXAS says Perfect Boat Not !
The boys run the piss out of thoes boats on tourney day. Lots of different boats are having problems because they are pushed to there limits during tournaments.
dPop (220.127.116.11) from TEXAS says Haha
All I can say is don't talk about em until you have ridden in one. When you are running that hard in SUPER rough water things come apart, I don't care what boat you are running.

WE DID PRETY GOOD ENDED UP IN 8TH PLACE. HAD A FUN START. THE BAY WE CROSSED WAS PRETTY ROUGH THE RADIO BROKE OUT OF THE BRACKET AND FELL IN THE HOLE NOTHING BUT WIRES , ALSO THE OXYGEN TANK BRACKETS BROKE LOSE , THE POWER POLE WAS DRAGING AND MY PARTNER LOOKED LIKE SUPERMAN BESIDE ME. BUT WE GOT TO THE FISING SPOT FIRST AND WITHIN 45 SECONDS HAD A 8 lb 11 oz IN THE BOAT. THEN LESS THAN 5 MIN LATER WE HAD A 6 lb 3 oz IN THE BOAT . WE CULED 7 FISH AND HAD 2 THAT WE THOUGHT WERE BIGGER SO WENT BACK TO THE BOAT AND KEPTED THE BIGGER FISH OUT OF THE 3 SMALL ONES. I WENT TO PUT THE FISH IN THE LIVE WELL AND ASKED MY PARTNER IF HE WAS SURE THAT THE BIG ONE MEASURED HE SAID HE THOUGHT IT WAS JUST UNDER SO I MEASURED IT AND IT WAS A 1/4 OVER WITH THE TAIL PINCHED SO AT 11:45 WE HAD 1 FISH IN THE BOX AND WE JUST LET GO 7 FISH THAT WERE IN THE SLOT. WE WENT FROM HIGH TO LOW REAL QUICK. SO WE WENT BACK TO THE ORIGANAL SPOT WERE WE STARTED AND CAUGHT AROUND 20 MORE REDS IN THE SLOT. THIS HAD TO BE THE BEST DAY OF CATCHING REDS IN MY LIFE . ALL ON GOLD SPOONS. I WAS REAL PLEASED WITH THE TOURNAMENT AND WILL FISH THE NEXT ONE IN PT LAVACA. HOPE EVERYONE ELSE HAD A GREAT TIME. THANKS AND GOD BLESS...
Hardly a negative comment about SCBs.
Big John (18.104.22.168) from TEXAS says I'm confused.
Radio brackets, and an oxygen tank bracket????
I'm trying to figure out how these brackets have anything to do with the boat.
Listen to Dpop's very sound advice.
J j (22.214.171.124) from TEXAS says Fastcats
Anyone know anything about the Fastcats out of Florida? Overheard someone talking about one recently. They said it's another 80mph boat thats set up a little different then the SCBs. Just curious.
Louisiana TM (126.96.36.199) from LOUISIANA says fastcats and more
the fit and finish on the Fastcat is eons better than the SCB. The FC is basically a rich man's bass boat, which probably would fit you well, Senator. It's a bit smaller but is used in SW by Whitney Irons, a guide there. It's a screamer and will put the SCB to shame. If they had a little larger hull I would own one. Even the ViperCat is better looking thatn the SCB and better laid out. See http://www.vipercat.com/features.htm.
The Fastcat site is http://www.fastcatmarine.com/index.htm.
Either one will get you a better boat than the SCB.
Super Dave (188.8.131.52) from TEXAS says scb's
anybody ever install a poling platform and try poling a scb? what draft at rest while loaded and can it be done with any effectiveness?
Big John (184.108.40.206) from TEXAS says I have
The boat drafts about 10-inches of water and can be poled relatively easy. Because of the size of the boat it catches wind, which can make poling difficult when out in the open. It's optimal when inside protected areas i.e. back lakes, mangroves, etc.. In other words, don't get on the north shoreline of east bay with a crankin south wind, and expect to pole the boat effectively. You will wind up on the bank.
Louisiana TM. You obviously haven't seen the new F-22. I would argue that it is in a class by itself. But if you don't like the SCB just say so. It's ok. No need to continually degrade it against every other cat hull on the market. Don't knock it until you've tried it.
dPop (220.127.116.11) from TEXAS says Hahaha
This stuff is amusing. I seem to remember one of the Redfish Cup events last year in which a team showed up in one of those FastCats. Yeah it looks good and then was pretty much smoked by the SCB's but hey what do I know.
Oc (18.104.22.168) from TEXAS says La tm
Obviosly Louisiana TM is Dumb if he is using that name! HELLLLO!
sounds like some one is just trying to start a message that is not worth starting!
So all the SCB fans and real peoplr that is capable of knowing what the boat does and will do, really will not waste the time to respond to this.
HAve a good one!
GET A LIFE AND A REAL BOAT!

Super Dave (188.8.131.52) from TEXAS says where's the love?
imagine that! getting flamed on this bored. lmao
NoName (184.108.40.206) from TEXAS says I wish
Its so depressing to see the saltwater inshore fishing world quickly becoming just like the tournament bass fishing world. Why do you guys need $60,000 rockets to go fishing? Is it just one big pissing contest? Those are nothing but stripped-down bass boats without carpet!!!!
Ranger Bob from TEXAS says Hardly
No tournament Bass boat will float in 12" of water or less and jump up in the same.
By the time you got up in 12" to 14" of water with a bass boat, the prop would be a nub.
Hey Dave your still cool in my book.
scb225 (220.127.116.11) from TEXAS says I have an SCB...........
I am running an SCB myself. I don't have the F22, but would if I only did tournaments or pleasure fished. There is just not enough room for 4 customers and the captain in an F22. I love the way the F22 is laid out, but it just doesn't work for me.
I can put a prop on my boat with my 225 HO Evinrude and hit 75 mph in the right conditions. Mostly 72 - 73 mph is about it. When I know I will be fishing very skinny water, I run a smaller cupped prop. Top speed is about 67 mph, but the mid range speed is what is to brag about. At 4000 rpm, I am cruising at 48 mph. This boat will run in waters most can only dream about. I myself was extremely and pleasantly suprised at how shallow this boat will float. In tournament conditions, my partner and I can stand on the bow and float in 8" of water. I have jumped up in as low as 12" of water with a muggy bottom.
The boat rides fine. You find me a boat that won't beat the living crud out of you in 3 footers running hard in a tournament and I'll show you a brand loyalist liar. The other thing to remember is that this boat is light, very light. You won't find any boat that'll run this fast, this shallow, and not have some type of draw back to it. If the only draw back I find is a rough ride in rough water, I'll take it. Most of the time you'll see me running in skinny water avoiding rough water as it is easier on me and my equipment.
Don't knock it, until you've tried it.
Home Boy (18.104.22.168) from TEXAS says scb225
when you say you don't have the F22, what do you mean? Isn't there only one model of the boat with a couple choices on the type console?
scb225 (22.214.171.124) from TEXAS says the F22
is has a different deck configuration. It is a new model, but Eric Simmons has yet to update his web site with the information. It is designed around bone boat style decks and has a small console.
bob b (126.96.36.199) from devon england says catamarans
i agree with every body who is in favour of cats its all ready proved dont fight it? go back many years in ENGAND the used them for fast power bo ats and well proven fishing boats
stew$ (188.8.131.52) from TEXAS says reply about go fasts
These boats are not for everyone. They do an adequate job hauling people but they are what they are, a perfect fit for a tournament boat. A bass boat wishes it could be put in the same class. W/a 300 merc racing on them they will run WELL over 100. We hit 102 and some change with the motor running about 75% of rated output. Who knows how much power it was really putting out at that given moment but the computer said it had been running about 75% for a long time. This boat just like any cat will really work so much better than a monohull up to a certain wave height. Of course speed, air speed, and all the other considerations will effect that, but apples and apples, as close as you can get them, over about 40 m/hr a cat will be smoother....
Ryan (184.108.40.206) from LOUISIANA says Fastcat
i have a fastcat and i promise it is the best riding boat on the water. if you would like more info on the boat you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
victor von doom (220.127.116.11) from FLORIDA says fast cat
Definitely cool and fast. 2006 Scream and fly blingmaster tour on lake kissimmee, fl. Fastcat with twin 300x mercs at 115mph up the kissimmee river with lots to spare. Tons of fishing room but it won't hold a candle to my NV getting up in shallow water.
laguna topcat (18.104.22.168) from TEXAS says scb
where did you hear of an scb coming apart?? just wondering what website would like to read about it . i have an scb and ran it in port lavace trs i think all boats get beat up pretty hard in four footers no matter what your in. yes we run them hard ,theyre made to lead, not follow.just my 2 cents
