SUBJECT: Cedar Bayou is dead...straight from the horses mouth! Also, news on the trout fixes coming.

Just got back from a trip to Rockport. Spent most of the week talking to top guides, local leaders, regulators and politicos. Bottom line is that the pass will never be opened by man. It will be "studied" by the Corp...ha ha. Unless another storm opens the pass you can kiss that project adieu.
Why you ask? Because unless the project includes a bridge over the pass to allow the landowner to access the rest of the property to the North it just won't happen. It's called politics and power and influence.
Sorry for you, Lynn. As for the whoopers, the locals wish they would all die. The pass apparently has nothing to do with the whoopers anyway. The drought is what has ruined the marsh ponds and killed off the food supply of the birds. The money spent on the cranes could be much better spent on assistance to the Katrina victims or the Ike victims. It's time to just let go and leave the cranes to become extinct just as thousands of other species have done.
Lynn, if you want a good project to work on, take on the Croaker Soaker problem that has decimated the fish population in the Rockport area as well as every other area that the bay rapers have set up residence in. Also look for some drastic regulations coming out of the TP&WL this year to attempt to fix the missing existence of spawning trout in the 18-26 in sizes. I'm hoping also that the fix is made for the commercial giggers to put them out of business.

if you outlawed croakers the rapers would just, as you said, turn to piggys, which, by the way, can be raised, fed, bred, and kept without limitation. The fix as I understand the underground will be much lower limits. Soon, it just won't be worth $500 plus to catch a couple trout. May even be some months when the season is closed. I'd be for closing the estuary in April, May, October and November till the system recovers. Furhter I'd like to see NO commercial take or sales of flounder. -

Being the subject was on the pass, have you implimented single blind research, or double blind research, or BS research to cover the true 11 years of failure, or just this year's failure?
No one can go through 11 years of pettitioning for permits to open that pass without repetitive failures.

Lynn represented herself as President, and with sole decisions on the pass permit actions. That is the Chief Executive Officer of SCB.
Seems your research is again flawed toward Lynn's responsibilities to the pass.
If within your research, you find Lynn has lied about making those final decisions, then who is the CEO, if not the SCB Lady President, by her declaration?

Who I am, and my involvement in the Pass opening is not important,,, I am no body, as I am not partitioning for the responsibility or funding of Cedar Bayou. Lynn is however,,, and therefore each of us has the responsibility to question her ability to complete. My being has been questioned here before,,,research the results.Your research surely has found that even the Corp of Engineer's has not placed near +or- 1/4 of a million dollars into her hands for the project she proposes. Even when she claims to have all her ducks in a row and waiting on the Corp in multiple years, the Corp waivered permiting/funding.
Under different leadership, SCB has opened that same pass before Lynn's tenure. But of course, your reseach has already found that premise. But then your research tool failed to recognize a 2 syllable word correctly,,,so maybe you are unknowing of similar issues too?
The Corp does not hold a vote of confidence to place her proposed project with funding into her hands til completion.
SCB funds continue to be used up monthly by Lynn,,, and with no active permit in hand for years. And your research tool surely read that in this forum,,, as she made that statement here on WMI.

So, I got on the phone with Dean Watkins with the USFWS in Albuquerque New Mexico. He said that he didn't know anything about anything. That he had not heard anything in a month about the project. Gosh, what a deal. Needless to say I just lost it and told Mr. Watkins just what I thought about that and more. Really, all he could say was, "will we have to know if there are any benefits in opening Cedar Bayou. HELLO, Benefits, he should have ask about the negative benefits, which there are NONE. People wonder why I get so crazy, try talking to these guys and you will stop wondering. I strongly suggested that he contact Mr. Strand down here and get with the program. I also sent him a picture of the sand dam across Vinson Slough in which the USFWS signed off on. I hope to hear from someone in the next few days. If I don't hear from them I will call the big boy Ken Salazar, their boss and see what he has to say about this. Right now I am so mad I could just spit. So I guess I had better get off of here, get a cold one, put my feet up and call it a day. Tomorrow is another day in my world. I wanted you guys to know that I am still on top of this, pushing hard to get these folks with the program. The permit is long from being dead as some have stated. It is just being stalled by one agency and I am about to fix that. I will let you know how things go and keep you up dated more often then I have. Mostly just a lurker here, check in about every 4-6 weeks. egobruiser, coming off to me as a big boob.What ever do horses have to do with any of this. When my son was 4 years old and frustrated. He would spout off Window, Donkey, Necklace.. We never figured out what that had to do with the price of rice, either. Eventually he has grown to be 21 years old in his 3rd year of collage. Now he just says the "S" word when he's frustrated like everybody else does.
