SUBJECT: Looking for a couple of people to fish offshore with
Submitted by
dreamchaser (66.82.32.1) from TEXAS on
I have a 26' Trophy WA cuddy, 2000 model with Ttop and electronics. I'm looking for a couple of hardcore, experienced offshore fisherman to fish with me next year.
Don't mean to be too picky but I would prefer a couple folks with a few years of experience offshore trolling, bottom fishing....
I trailer the boat, which sucks, usually fish out of Port O'Connor. Live in Cat Spring which is north of Sealy.
If you are serious about fishing and interested in going out at least once a month, email me. I'm looking for more then the occasional fisherman since offshore fishing is a lot of work, it makes it easier when a crew knows each other, the boat and tackle and that takes quite a few trips. Also interested in sharing of expenses.
Drop me a line if you are interested and we'll talk. I'm going offshore Saturday if the forecast holds up, going for Tuna, room for one more on the boat.

i have posted a few times on this board to try and get a few more people in my boat to go offshore. i was not estactic with some of the replies. i have posted the same offer on the 2coolfing.com messsage board and have meet and fished with some really nice people and have not had the problems with bashers. i hope you are lucky enough to not get someone like me to accept your offer. i might arrive with 2000lbs of tackle and 25 to 30 rods and reels. those that know me are probably rotfltao....rick

BradP (65.58.31.125) from TEXAS says I Have Experience
I will go if you pay me $300 a day and buy me dinner at the Red Snapper. I know everything there is to know about offshore fishing, conservation, engines, rules of the road and even chicks. I'm the smartest man in the world. That's why they call me "Mr. Know It All" around Bridge Harbor!

say dreamchaser hope you find a couple good fisherman, we have a 1996 17' cc for the bay and in the process of closing a deal on a 26' prokat, I own a home in Crystal Beach and I'am currently building and R.V. Park and Marina near Rollover Pass, however I'm currently living in Minneasota and I only get down there about once every 2 months, and I'am constantly looking for someone to go out fishing with me. Correct me if I'm wrong, isn't Port O'Connor the closest point to the Gulf basin off the Texas coast, I have often thought of trailing down there and make that 50 mile run to the basins edge. From the Galveston jetties its about an 82 mile run which is an additional 2 hour and 64 miles round trip, cuts into good fishing time, not to mention the fuel.
I'll be there in January for the boat show, drop me a line at theekong@aol.com
Happy Holidays Mike

Capt. Dennis (66.114.3.123) from TEXAS says Trailering the boat
If you are looking for a place to put that boat so you don't have to trailer it all the time you might want to check out Kirby Marina in Freeport. They have a new pier with drive on lifts. Just like driving it on the trailer only easier. The web site for them is www.Kirbymarina.com. Good luck on getting some quality fishing partners. The access to the gulf is also as close as Port O'connor if not a little closer.

mike (198.81.26.103) from TEXAS says trailing the boat
actually I was refering to the distance from land to the basin, if I'm not mitaken I believe Port O'Conner is one of the closest points to where the Basin drops off sharply, it drops from 300' to 750' like a cliff, its refered to as the East Break Drop, I have heard if you have trouble locating tuna, you'll find them there.

mike (198.81.27.17) from TEXAS says trailing the boat
by the way Capt. Dennis thanks for the info on Kirby Marina, it will come in handy, even if you trailer down a guy needs a place to dock his boat a couple of days, a guy can't determine a good fishing hole in one day, and don't ever tell a wife any different.

Greg Davis (66.82.9.38) from TEXAS says Thanks
Thanks for the replies. Mike, you can be in deeper water sooner by going out of Port Aransas. That's why I don't go out of Freeport anymore, too far a run to the deep. Since I'm trailering, it isn't that much further to Port O or Port A. I've been doing Port O lately and doing pretty well.

I have a 17 ft bass boat that I plan to take to Freeport and will probably sink,,, lmao. The reason is my fishing addiction is bigger than my wallet. I honestly couldn't afford a monthly trip but would be happy to accompany anyone for a few trips a year.

John P. Jackson (74.192.61.195) from TEXAS says Fishing offshore from Port O Conner
Hi. . . I can go offshore once a month or more. I have little experience in the gulf but I fished in the pacific for Salmon, Tuna & Halibut for 20 years. I live in Victoria so it's not a bad trip.
I didn't see a date so if i'm answering an old ad then sorry.
p.s. I know Cat Springs. . . I was raised in Hempstead for much of my young life - long ago.
