The third European Masters Salmon Trolling Competition will be held this time in Helsinki Finland in June, 2002. The city offers excellent facilities for salmon trolling. The hot spots are near the city and its modern conveniences, which will please the most demanding traveller and angler. Yamaha outboards, Nokia mobile phones, Eagle electronics and more will be given every day as prizes for the biggest salmon and best boat crew.
Last year, almost 200 boats and some 600 anglers took part in the Helsinki Trolling Contest. A total of 608 kilos and 92 salmon were caught during the competition. Mr Erkki Askolin caught the biggest fish, almost 17 kg. The best team caught 45 kg of salmon.
A boat, outboard, and car show will be held at the venue, and fresh salmon, salmon products, and fishing tackle will be sold. Saturday night will swing with a street festival featuring top local artists. The two restaurants and the other services of the venue will guarantee a great happening.
