How deep, how heavy a jig? From: Jim Balicki (12.75.193.85), NEW JERSEY Terry, Just curious, how deep was the water, and how heavy a jig did you need to hold bottom in 15-to-20-knot winds?Jigging From: Terry Mooney (69.173.133.31), MAINE We needed 16 oz. weights to hold bottom. Despite the chop and swells, the drift wasn't real fast. We fished in about 50' of water. I didn't jig, but the guys' jigs appeared to be around 12 - 16 oz. They were big! They used treble hooks and had feathers on them. Some guys used braided line.Yatzee! From: Rail Rat (192.128.167.68), NEW JERSEY Hey bro, Yatzee! Sounds like a great trip on a good boat. How crowded was this boat on a Wednesday? Were any Haddock caught? Is there a bag limit for fish caught on Jeff's Ledge? There's a size limit on the GBanks, but no bag limit. Maybe next year.F/V Bunny Clark From: Terry Mooney (69.173.133.31), MAINE Haddock were in pretty good supply. Our party of 4 had 6 haddock in the bag. We caught 2 reds and 3 cusk as well as cod & Pollack. There is a size limit, but no bag limit. The boat is fitted for 30 anglers, We had 15. I told Jim that we were in 50' of water, but it took our weights a long time to hit bottom so we were probably in deeper water. My arms were definetly sore when I cranked 'em up! Listen to me complain! To add a remark to this report click here.
