it depends on the day really. i'd say your doing better further out on the jetty. Live crab (small) or dead half crab (table size) work well.

i allways use small croaker for bait with a #3or#4 long shank hook on the north jetty go midway from cut to end on the gulf side fish about a to the bottom and as close to rocks if you get hung up leave the line alone let it hang there the reds will get it off god luck
