| white snapper? From: Bill P (69.244.201.142), ALABAMA Capt, what is the actual species of the fish that is called the "white snapper"? I know that what most people call a gray or black snapper is a mangrove snapper. I get the impression that "white snappers" are porgeys and not members of the snapper family.
