pawleys island From: Rich (173.72.16.43), NEW JERSEY
Spend my summers fishing the same area. Took some time and many fishless days to figure out the action can be as hot as mid August afternoons. If you enjoy artificials, try using topwaters early in the mornings. Try both inlets on Pawleys but pay close attention to the south end. If you paddle (canoe or kayak) there are many landings (boat ramps up North)on the island with some great out-of-way creeks. This area just begins to scratch the surface of S.C. coastal fishing. Hope this helps!

Keep Fishing!

Thank You! From: bigrd8703 (97.89.163.27), SOUTH CAROLINA
Thank you for the information on Pawley's! I usually head to the outer banks of North Carolina for vacation, but we found a good rental rate in Pawley's and couldn't pass it up. The information is definitely going to be helpful. I will be there all of next week and when I return I will try to post any information I learn! Thanks again and God Bless!

Pawley's Island May 30-June 6 From: skeeterman (97.89.163.27), SOUTH CAROLINA
I finally got a chance to get back on here to tell you about my luck. It was tough out there. Fished the waterway in Pawleys, even put the boat in the Waccamaw and rode out to Winyah Bay. We manage a few whiting and small fish. Fished with everything from live bait to artificials. The waterway in Pawley's is really the best bet if you want to catch fish. A lot of people were on the main bridge to the island everyday. I guess thats the premier location, but we spoke to several people with jonboats that were fishing the creeks and they were catching a lot of flounder on floater rigs with mudminnows. They were complaining though that it was hard to catch a legal size fish. Sorry I couldn't help more with the fishing but if anyone gets a chance to go to Pawley's, take it. Visit Pawley's Outdoors too, the personnel there were some of the nicest people I've ever met. And you can't go wrong with any restaurant there that isn't a chain. My personal favorite was the Hanser House, some of the best food and service of anywhere.
