Short drifts From: Bill K (76.116.205.199), NEW JERSEY You got it! The key to river fishing is "short drifts". When you fish the holes and ledges, it's extremely important. Many times, the fish seem to "pod up". If you catch two or if three people hook up at once, mark the spot and get right back on it before the fish leave.
Nice job Docco. Is it just me, or have these recent tides been exceptionally high? Have you noticed an improvement of the water clarity? It's been very clear off our dock.
Pod Drifting-Short & Sweet From: Docco (76.116.124.144), NEW JERSEY You got me laughing, Years ago ,fishing the shrewsbury rv. ,I had someone asked me .You mean to tell me all the fish are in this one spot? Right Capt. Steve, if your reading this, your chuckling too.Well after a few drifts over the same little area he soon became amazed @ how thick the bottom was with fish in this one little dockside channel.
Yes,I think they called for a higher level flood, the past few days . The water up river was lightly stained ,but over by the R/R bridge it was very clear.
