Report:
: As promised here is another fishing report for Sat. 29th. and Monday 31st. Trolled Tcouabluff both days using bass assassins in opening night and DOA shrimp. Sat. had a late start caught 5 nice specks (2-3.5lbs) in 4 hrs. trolling real slow. Nobody around was doing very good, they said bite was alittle better earlier. Monday around 4:00p start again and caught 3 specks in 5 min. then nothing for an 1.5hrs then caught 2 more and went in. Used same baits and tech. Here is a lesson to be learned by all. On the way back to the Causeway launch from T.River it was dark, lil' foggy, and very cold. I was running almost full throttle and my whole body almost inside of my center console to escape the cold. Almost to the launch I started throttling down and I hear someone yelling. I look up a there infront of my boat is a BLACK canoe with NO LIGHTS. Inside were a 30+-yr. old man and his 7-yr. old son. Luckily I swerved enough to miss them and luckily because I slowed down didn't capsize them. First, I yelled to see if they were all ok, then after realizing I could have killed them, asked what in the hell was a grown man thinking to bring his little son out at night on a CANOE with NO LIGHTS, NO LIFEJACKETS, NO MOTOR! He didn't say a word back. Maybe he realized what could have happened to them too! While moral to the story is never go fishing without the proper working safety equipment. Your life and others may depend upon it someday. Big Yellow Mouths to You All!
