Report:
Terry and his son Mitch went along for my annual fishing trip.
We got to area 31-36 on 5-26 with a tide of <2'. Fantastic!
Nice and calm then wind in the PM. Normal.
I got my 38lb and Terry was the expert on the spear gun. Fish in the boat!
The next day, we fished in the same area. Unfortunately the wind was on it's way. The radio weather told me it would. We saw the band of white water coming slowly from the west. We had to go back to PA in 3-5' waves.
5-29 we got out again, wind calmed down but was due to rise again in the PM. I stayed in by shore today to keep out of the rough water. Green Point had been good 2 years before.
Now Mitch's pole bent. He(16, 1st halibut trip) bagged a 52lb fish!!
His Dad was on the speargun, I was on the video. Great trip.
The next weekend was not the same...huge tide, wind, rain...
I got no fish. Did do some shrimping though. Got a few lbs.
I really love this part of our state. Beautiful area.
Even in bad weather.
