Subject: Horn Island, Mississippi

Submitted by Dale Schott (ip 152.163.206.201)

Water Temperature: 84
Water Clarity: 3 feet
Seas: 1 foot
Weather: Partly Cloudy with Thunderstorms. West winds 0-5 knots; 80 deegrees; stong rising tide.
Fishing_for: Specks & Reds
Boat: Neptune
captain: Dr. Mysti Schott

Report:
Hit the water about 5:45am out of the Ocean Springs Marina. Got to Horne Island about 6:00am and headed to the flats near Big Lake. Had luck there a couple weekends ago on a rising tide. Was wade fishing the grass beds by 6:15am using live shrimp under a popping cork. Conditions seemed to be perfect for a great day, but three hours later I had netted only two specks. Tried several other areas, but no luck. Not sure why the fish were not biting, maybe the fish are deeper since the water has warmed up so much?

Til next time: TIGHT LINES!
