Report:
it was our 1st trip to horne.... the area we were in looked fantastic
... lots of grass beds....when we arrived there were several boats drift fishing the grass and several folks wading , it looked like the waders were getting all the action......so we followed suit and hit the water, first fishing w/ peter mullet under an equilizer( cork ) which produced one nice 30 " red and one keeper spec ...in about an hour of fishing . When the bait ran out we started jigging sparkle beatles, and spec tail jigs... trying to keep them just above the grass.....we caught a few more keeper trout, and loads of 10- 13" specs, and several under size rat reds, which we of course released..... but the action was incredable. A hit almost every cast.... On two occasions a school of big jack cravelle ran within inchs from us almost running into us in the water .....and , my partner steve was greeted by a 5-6 foot blacktip that was following up the jacks for scraps. WHAT A DAY....I think i found a new favorite fishing place.
